   I have a three camera Arlo system and keep an eye on my Epileptic dog with them. I love mine and buy batteries off Amazon for them.

   What batteries do you recommend? Also does anyone know if I could just buy 2 of these to have 2 cameras instead of one of these and an add on camera (which is more expensive)?

  You can buy 2 of these. The cameras are not tied to a specific base station. You can just keep the 2nd base station as backup
