Thank you! (Side note: sad to see that Amazon is now charging tax in my state 🙁 …. I read about it online but I guess I hoped it wasn’t true!) Question: Would some of you mind to tell me your stock up price per unit on dishwasher tablets and laundry detergent tablets? I went ahead and ordered these since I depleted my stockpile of laundry/dish detergent through out last year but I’m curious what you consider a “hot” price? Thanks!
Walmart has a 70 pack for $8.67, so his seems like a great deal. I don’t have a stock up price, but thought that might help!
My last dishwasher tab purchase was at $.12 a tab and the one prior was $.17 a tab. I have settled on cascade platinum. I can also find the finish tabs (which are still okay) for $.12 a tab. Problem is, i can’t usually “stock up” as I’m only able to get one pack with subscribe and save and a clipped coupon. I just tend to get it whenever it is on sale on amazon. For reference, I am not a super couponer either, just budget conscious.
pretty sure if they didn’t charge tax before because you were out of state you are supposed to file use tax….best to check your state though.
For both – if I can get laundry soap/pods and dishwasher detergent at or less than $0.10 a load then I am very happy. Obviously different brands/scents (Tide for Laundry, Cascade Platinum for dishwasher) are always more expensive than some more cost friendly brands/scents (Arm & Hammer, Purex for laundry & the standard powerball finish tabs). But, as long as it is a scent/type/brand that I like I find that my goal is $0.10 a load. For Tide & Cascade Platinum I raise my stock up price to about $0.13 – $0.15 a load.
It’s a new thing I guess… I read about it on a couponing group that is local to me, that several things about our state sales taxes have changed as of January 1st.
Thank you! Good to hear other people’s stock up prices!! I only recently started using the pods for my laundry detergent (I mean I use either pods or liquid but up until recently I never really tried the pods.) Sorry, the comment about tax was supposed to be a reply to the comment above yours 🙂
Just wondering, for those of you who use laundry pods, do you use 1 pod for a large load or do you need to use more? I haven’t used pods before so I’m just curious. Seems like a great deal unless you find yourself often needing to use more than 1 per load…I have 3 kids so all my laundry loads are “large!” 😉
I usually stick with one pod and don’t have an issue. I keep liquid detergent for loads with large blankets/comforters. I’ve found that no matter the brand of pods or what I try, those tend to not fully dissolve with a really large item. So since i have the liquid i will occasionally add a tiny bit, maybe 1/4 the full load, with the pod if I think the load needs it.
