Right on time! I’m getting my contacts tomorrow. First time ever. Has anyone used both brands of solution? Which is better?
I’ve had contacts most of my life and just discovered the hydrogen peroxide stuff about a year ago and LOVE IT!!! You can use it every day but the catch is that the contacts need to be in the solution for 4 hours or it will burn your eyes. So you definitely want to have both on hand in case you need a simple rinse for some reason. But for the normal, day to day overnight cleaning, the hydrogen peroxide is the way to go. My contacts have lasted so much longer than they ever have and my eyes never get itchy from wearing them too long.
hi I have never used hydrogen peroxide for cleaning and disinfecting lenses, is there a specific way to use it and will any hydrogen peroxide work?
I use Clear Care. The solution comes with a special case, you have to use the case that comes with the solution. Fill to the line with solution, soak over night that’s it! Directions are in the solution box. Couldn’t be easier. You just can’t wear your contacts for about 6 hours or your eyes will burn. I’ve been using this for a few years and I’ve never had a problem. Could have saved so much money if I would have made the switch even sooner!!!
I agree. My doctor switched me to the hydrogen peroxide cleaner after I developed problems from other solutions. Can’t say enough good things about it! Wish I would have done it YEARS ago. Contacts last so much longer and are way more comfortable. I still use multi purpose solution if my contacts get dry or need a quick rinse. I just did the cvs deal today, I think it came out to 1.50 a bottle, limit two.
I have been using baush and laumb peroxi clear for over a year snd can feel a guge difference compared to regular renu or anything else ive used.my contacts feel cleaner and i can wear them longer than 2 months per pair and they still dont bother me. I wear the sir optics night and day and dont usualyy sleep in them and we are supposed to dispose of them monthly but i can wear mine up to 3 months.
I do have 2 pairs of contacts at a time, because peroxide burns really bad if contacts dont get soaked long enough.
I make sure mark the containers or put them in different spots, because my eyes were on fire when i woke up and wore the wrong ones twice in one week.
I usually use the Bausch and Lomb peroxide solution as well but the past two times I went to Target, there weren’t any bottles on the shelves. Not even a spot for it. I wondered if it had been pulled for some reason but never looked into it. I got the clean and clear because it was the only other option and I too LOVE the peroxide solution. Definitely extends the wear-ability of my contacts!
I use Opti-Free Replenish. I have had contacts for 23 years. I can tell a difference when I’ve had to had to use generic so I would stay away from that. I have disposable contacts that I throw out monthly with a very strong prescription. Thank you for the deal!
Don’t get clear care. Makes your eyes burn if sensitive.
Agreed. My SIL loves Clear Care but I have really sensitive eyes and I tried it and then re-tried it and it just doesn’t work for me. But like I said, SIL only uses Clear Care.
I love BioTrue.
Darn! Thanks for sharing your experience!
Several of the twin packs of the clear care at my target had a bonus 3 oz. travel size!
Sweet! Thanks for the heads up!
Opti-Free Replenish is the one my family of 5 uses and several of us have super strong to custom made contacts and have never had a problem when using it.
Oh and if anyone has any coupons they won’t use I would love them. We didn’t get these coupons in our paper. jrdnrz@gmail.com
Thanks so much for the feedback Nancy! Good to know!
Hi, I’m new to couponing, how do I get the $5/1 Opti-free coupon?
Hi Lori! That coupon is found in the SmartSource Coupon Insert from 1/01. Hope this helps!
I assume you mean from the newspaper? So if I don’t get the newspaper, is there a way to get that SmartSource Coupon?
