Head over to Amazon Instant Video where you can rent any movie from this page (over 49,000 to choose from!) for just $0.99 when you enter promo code MOVIE99 at checkout – limit 1 per person. Once you have rented a movie, you will have 30 days to start watching the video and 24 hours to finish once it’s been started.

I tried Chrome and Firefox on computer, Chrome on phone, and the Amazon app. I got the same message every time. My account has $5.43 of digital credit I have accrued from no rush shipping- maybe that is causing an issue? No clue.
RESOLUTION!!
I got the same error as Mimi mentioned but went ahead and rented SD version and after that I went to Digital Orders and I ONLY PAID 99Cents. Give it a try and if you have issues AMAZON has the BEST customer service to cover your back. Hope this helps!!

Thank you Vamsi!! I was getting the error but proceeded with renting the SD version based on your tip. When I checked my order history I was only charged $.98.

Will our shipping credits also work with this deal?
I don’t think so. I just tried and got charged the regular price when I saw my order confirmation email. I also had a shipping credit, so they must not let you use the code with a credit.
I was thinking that the reason I kept getting an error message was because I have credit from shipping, but then I went onto my husband’s account and the code worked and subtracted 99¢ from the digital credit he has

Worked for me. It was slightly tricky. I followed directions and then when back to the original screen. It still said 5.99, but after I looked at my confirmation, it did deduct $5! Woohoo. Secret life of pets here we come

I wondered the same thing! You must click on the $5.99 on the original screen after entering the promo code and follow the steps to order. The discount should show up on the confirmation email ( it did for me)

Ugh. We just finished watching secret life of pets and I paid over $5.. lol
I rented Hell or High Water. It ended up taking off $5.99 (which was the rental fee) with the code so it was free. I didn’t have any video credits in my account and no cards got charged. Not sure what happened but I’m happy! Free rental!

Set up your fire stick to your amazon account.
Go through ordering the movie on a phone or mobile device like she instructs you to do on your Amazon account.
When you are done, the movie will appear automatically on your stick in the left hand bar under “My movies”. It may take a minute or two for the movie to appear but it will.
