Is this good? Any reviews?
Anita, I do have this one, the same brand but different color. Mine was light pink. It really works. In about 10 mins your hair will be in a good decent look, it may take you 5 mins more if you want it really good and straight at the ends of your hair! Great one, I recommend it for the girls who don’t want to spend a lot of time straightening their hair, but still doing the job easy and quickly as possible and look good 🙂 I paid 22.99 for mine. So that’s a killer deal
I would love to hear from anyone that has tried the straightening brush.
I’m curious also. Have been wanting one of these but there are so many with mixed reviews.
Do you need to dry your hair first?
Yes, for me I do let my hair dry naturally, and then go ahead and brush it well and then let it go smoothly through my hair. The trick is that you need to brush your hair before using it, because it’s not meant to be used as a brush rather just a straightener! Or it will pull your hair accidentally and you’ll feel the pain. Also, another trick that makes it hold your hair well and for a longer time, is that while you’re straightening your hair, you need to give each part of you hair a few seconds, so you’ll feel the difference and you’ll not be going through that part again and you’ll be done in no time. I know that this one do have many mixed reviews, and it happened with my sister too. She bought it first and returned it. I didn’t know about her recommendation, and I was looking for an easy way to straighten my hair, because I’m too lazy and Idk how to do it professionally. So I tried it and I’m happy with it. My sister saw me, and thought that I’ve learned how to straighten my hair, and I told her about it and she was shocked that it was the same brush that she returned. But she told me that she didn’t try it that much or at least play with it and experience it to see if it really works. That’s just my opinion 😉 and I’m happy to share it with you hip2savers
I tried it on my shoulder length hair my daughter’s long hair. We both thought it hurt & pulled out a lot of our hair. For the price, try it. But for me it didn’t work.
Oh bummer 🙁 Sorry to hear pulled your hair. Thanks for sharing your experience!
Same for me. I bought one when this deal was posted last week, and I tried it three different times with different techniques and it pulled out an alarming amount of my hair every time, even when I used a smoothing silicone spray to help it glide better. Such a great idea – I don’t know why they put rubber tips on the bristles! I’ve actually got it packed up to return.
Thank you. With super thick curly hair me and my girls will give it a try!
You’re welcome Alyssa!
Only use on dry hair.
I have really thick wavy hair. It worked for me. I mean, a good hair straightener works better, but I like having this on days when I don’t have a lot of time. Its real handy to use on my daughters hair (11&8) before school. It does pull hair a little but that wasn’t an issue for us. We love ours!!
Awesome! Thanks for the tip and for sharing your experience Lisa!
Just want to say I have this brush and it is great! It won’t get your hair bone straight like a flat iron BUT it will get your hair straight while still having body so I’d say it makes it look like you have naturally straight hair and not flat iron hair. I have very long thick wavy hair and on my super wavy parts I will pull my hair down a bit with one hand and run the brush through and it comes out great after 2 brush strokes. The rest of my hair I just use the hot brush like I’m brushing with a regular brush and it takes care of the rest. VERY worth the sale price!
Thanks so much for the helpful feedback! Good to know!
I am going to try it, can always be returned if it doesn’t work 🙂
I bought this the last time it was on sale and my daughters love it! Plus they can do it themselves. They are 10 and 12. Works great!!
Awesome that they are able to use it themselves Jaina! Thanks for sharing!
Gonna try it! Thanks!
You’re welcome!
I just bought this last week and was super impressed! I have very long, wavy, thick hair. I spend about 40-60 minutes straightening and/or curling it when I have the time. I took a shower, brushed my hair, sprayed in some heat protector & let it air dry. It left my hair shiny-opposed to dried out at the bottom when I use my straightener. I’ve been recommending this to all my girlfriends. It takes me about 10-15 tops. I like that I can kind of curl it under too. The only thing that I will say is that I’m super picky and like my hair straight-straight. It really did GREAT everywhere except for the area around my forehead. That was harder to get to since the brush is big. I ended up plugging in my Chi just to go over two small parts in front. I think my hair looks better using this than when I spend an hour using my Chi.
Super cool that this has worked so well on your hair Jenny! Thanks for the great feedback!
I have naturally curly thick hair and I bought this last time. You need to brush your hair out well or it will pull, also like most mentioned it does not straighten like a flat iron but it’s okay and quicker. The only big complaint I have (which you will see alot of people on Amazon mention)is the power buttons are right in center of handle where you hold a brush.Which in turn you inadvertently turn the brush off alot:(
Jane, once you set the temperature, just press the power button again. Then it won’t accidentally turn off.
i bought this when it was posted last week and wasn’t impressed at all and have already returned it and received my refund! I have thick, naturally wavy hair and use a high end straightener. The brush is supposed to heat to 410 degrees but only heated to 310 and then after a couple of days only heated to 305. Online it says you can control the heat but there’s no way to do that (on the white version). There’s only and on and off switch. The brush did not pass through my hair bc of the plastic balls on the ends. Even when i combed my hair into very thin sections and held it taut, it barely straightened my hair and left the ends unkempt looking. My hair looked really dry and frizzy after using too. And just an FYI, the brush gets hot so keep your fingers away. Not worth buying.
With the white one you just press the power button quickly to change the temperature. It will flash the temp to show that it is heating and then will show the temp solid once it’s heated to the displayed temperature. Press and hold the power button to power off or on. It’s right in the instruction booklet that came with it.
Thanks for letting me know. I didn’t get an instruction booklet – only a small card. Regardless, I still think it doesn’t straighten well (even without the adjustable temp option) and wouldn’t recommend it for thick, wavy hair. It might work on hair that doesn’t need much extra work and/or fine hair that it can brush through very easily.
I purchased the light pink one by Oak Leaf when it was posted a couple of months ago. It did a great job straightening my hair, however it pulled a lot of my hair out, and did a LOT of damage. I used it for three days and my hair dresser had to cut off about three inches of my hair to get the damage under control. Super bummed. I should have left well enough alone.
Oh no! Sorry to hear it damaged your hair 🙁 Thanks so much for sharing your experience!
I agree that it pulls out a lot of hair and leaves the ends looking rough :/ Sorry it damaged your hair!
I received mine today. I was so excited. I have super long (almost to my bum) thick wavy hair. Straightener takes me almost 2 hours. This thing works.. I used a hair serum to help with the frizz… doesn’t completely straighten but definitely makes me cut the time by half!
