Don’t buy. Buy something real. They do not cost much more money. These will not stayed tuned. And will just be a piece of junk. A friend bought some for our kids over the holidays. We went out and bought real ones. The kids love them.
Oh bummer… so sorry your experience was no so good with them Ashley. 🙁
I bought one of these for my son for Christmas. While it isn’t a real guitar, it is perfect for him at 4 years old. We do tighten the strings a lot and it sounds pretty good, but they need regular adjustment. I paid $10 which was worth it for his age, how much he plays with it, and the life of the toy. Both of my kids love it so I am considering buying another. Obviously, it isn’t a real guitar, but I didn’t expect that or want that at this age. In my son’s eyes, he thinks it is great and plays with it frequently. He is happy to have his own guitar. It is definitely a toy guitar so do not expect real guitar sound/music or quality. It has held up well with two young kids playing with it regularly.
Awesome to hear your family love them! 🙂
Bought this when Amazon had it for $10. My 4 year old daughter LOVES it. She plays with it non-stop. My boyfriend even tuned it for her. He plays with it every now and then too. Quality is great for a toy. It’s wood and sturdy.
Awesome!! Thanks for the great review! 🙂
We bought one of these ukuleles at Christmas for $10 as a gift for our daughter. My husband, who plays (and purchased his ukulele on our honeymoon in Hawaii from the same shop Elvis got his) was concerned because these are toys. Our daughter is 3 and always wanted to “play” his expensive ukulele.
Yes, this is a toy. Yes, it must be tuned every time you really want to play. Surprisingly, when tuned it sounds decent. For $10 (or $8 in this case), it is a purchase we were happy with. When she is a little older, we will buy her a real one, but for now, in the independent, bump-into-walls 3-yr-old stage, this is great. No worries about breaking it–plus it is exciting because of the character. Even a seasoned player, with an expensive uke, appreciates it.
Great to hear Nell! We appreciate the review! So happy your daughter loves it!
