Its not actually that great of a deal. The “mega rolls” and etc are a subjective marketing gimmick. What really matters is price per square foot. Costco has tp for a penny per square foot and this is more than that. The Costco brand should be a comparable,3 ply quality.

you are right. and the Marathon brand at Costco is 2-ply, and the sheets are a half-inch bigger than these, and the rolls have 470 sheets per roll for about 43 cents per roll.
this deal has only 308 sheets per roll for 70 cents per roll, and sheets are smaller. that makes it more than twice as expensive (due to sheet size/total square footage) as buying at Costco.
IF a person looks at this Charmin as equivalent to 18 cents per regular roll, then that means you expect that a regular roll only has about 70 sheets on the roll.
I think it’s Sam’s that sells the Marathon brand. I think toilet paper quality is subjective. I would never compare Marathon tp to Charmin. I agree this isn’t the best price for Charmin, but it’s a reasonable price if you need it.
we have Marathon tp, but we don’t have a Sam’s membership, or a Sam’s club in my town, so i am certain we didn’t get it there. they may also carry it at Sam’s, though, i don’t know.
Toilet paper is subjective. Some people like certain brands better. This price isn’t the best, but it’s decent. Personally, I haven’t found Kirkland tp (which is actually 0.015 per sq ft) to compare to Charmin.

Each to their own, but keep in mind you also have to pay for a Costco membership and take the time to drive to the store and wait in line. Because this deal can be had from the comfort of your own home and is also for a brand name product, I think it is a pretty hot deal for Charmin. 🙂

I only purchase charmin (hubby is a picky TP user) so here’s how I easily figure out if it’s a good deal. I go by their “regular” roll measure. It says it’s equal to 16 rolls per pack, times 6 packs equals 96 “regular” rolls. I got it for $15.93 so that’s $.166 per roll. I won’t pay more than $.20 per rolls so it’s a good deal for me. IMO you shouldn’t compare one brand of TP to another brand. Someone may say it’s the same quality as, but others will disagree. Trust me, I’ve tried switching it up and my hubby always knows. 😉
Same here!!! We only use Charmins. Even my 2 boys could tell the difference. I switched one day a while back and my little one was first of them 3 to use it. He came out with the roll in his hand yelling, I think some robber came into our house and took our good toilet paper… Lol. My hubby just stared at me cause he knew I must have changed it 🙂
I do something similar to calculate faster, but just note that a mega roll is actually slightly smaller than four regular rolls.
Wish the price was given per foot instead of by roll “size”. This would allow us to compare prices easily without the subjective roll naming. We could then decide what was a good price per foot for the brand we prefer.

I had too much time on my hands and compared this Amazon deal (24 rolls x 308 sheets)= 7,392 sheets. for $18.46 shipped. $18.82 before -$2 coupon and subscribe and save discount, plus tax for me. Or $0.002497 per sheet.
(Maybe the Amazon deal was better previously)
I compared it to Target’s Charmin Ultra soft 12 “Mega plus rolls” of (12 rolls x 369 sheets) =4,428 sheets for approximately $15.25 for each package, $5 giftcard when you buy 2 packages, so approximately $25.50 for 2 packages, equals $.00575 per sheet.
The Amazon deal is cheaper, even at “my” higher cost compared to what Colin said. (I like math).
