I didn’t realize these were lactose free. My husband currently drinks lactaid, can anyone give me a comparison?
I don’t think these are lactose free
Hi there! The site states that they are indeed lactose free: https://fairlife.com/our-products/
Hope this helps!
This product contains lactase the enzyme that breaks down lactose. https://fairlife.com/ou
r-products/whole-milk/
If truly lactose free lactase would not be in the ingredient list. ‘
This might be a better product than lactaid..same issue…dairy by nature contains lactose, additives(lactase) minimize this issue.

All FairLife products are lactose free, and delicious too!!
According to their website, they are lactose free: “We start with high quality real milk from our farms and run it through our unique filtration. The result? Delicious, nutrient-rich ultra-filtered milk with 50% more protein, 30% more calcium and half the sugars typically found in milk, and itโs lactose freeโฆ” www dot fairlife dot com
These are lactose-free. This is the milk that I drink. Yes, actually drink, instead of just making something with it or eating it with a bowl of cereal. It just tastes like regular milk, without the bad lactose reaction. I don’t, particularly, like Lactaid, because it has a sweeter taste than regular milk and the whole milk variety seems a bit thick, to me. I think Fairlife filters out the extra sugars that the lactose is converted into. So, it’s just like having a glass of regular milk, with extra vitamins and protein added.
Just depends… it says that it is lactose free but it still bothered me. Others have had some luck with it, sounds like you’ll have to give it a try to see.
My fiancรฉ drinks this milk and doesn’t have complications like he does when drinking cows milk. I think it tastes funny but he loves it!
Hi Ashley, I always bought Lactaid too (all the soy and nut milks just donโt compare) First off, let me say that I LOVE MILK!!! So if your husband is picky about his milk as well, I promise he will love FairLife. It is hands down the best tasting milk around Lactose free or not!
Even i wanna know my son takes lactaid
my son did not like the 2% regular fairlife – we also by lactaid – he says there is a weird after taste- but the chocolate one Is really good – so we buy lactaid for cereal and fairlife chocolate for a treat
Thanks for the honest review! Glad to hear he enjoys the chocolate flavor!
They are lactose free my daughter has issues an loves this milk! The only milk we drink it’s pricey but so worth it ! Thanks Colin for the coupons !!!
You are most welcome! Super glad to hear she has done well with this milk! Thanks for the feedback!
YES, it is Lactose Free. During the filtration process, lactose gets pulled out. Also this milk has 50% less sugar than regular milk. And tastes better! Also doesn’t spoil as quickly as reg milk. The only downside is it’s just so dang expensive. WM in my area is the cheapest at reg price of $3.50, for not quite a whole gallon (only 54 oz jug), while a gallon of milk is a little over $2 at Sam’s. I buy a few jugs when they go on sale 2/$6 or sometimes 2/$5 b/c they have a longer exp date as well, usually a month or 2 out!
Thanks so much for the helpful review Mel!
Okay… if any of you haven’t tried this milk, you NEED too. Once I tried this, I can’t drink regular milk anymore. It’s double the protein as well! The chocolate milk is good as well! Target also has a dollar off every once in awhile, so doubling this would make it around 2 bucks!
How cool! Happy to hear how yummy it is Alicia! Thanks for sharing!
Just finished a glass of the chocolate! I am not lactose intolerant but this is the only milk I buy besides almond milk. Love it!
The Fairlife chocolate milk is wonderful! It is the only chocolate milk I’ll buy anymore and I’ll even paid full price for it. Thanks!
Awesome! You’re so welcome! ๐
I was suffering from gestational diabetes through my last pregnancy I wasn’t able to drink any kind of milk because it used to make my blood sugar so high accept Fairlife
Love their chocolate milk!
Thank you! Their chocolate milk is the bomb diggity! #grewupinthe90’s
You’re welcome Sarah!
Your comment actually made me lol. Thanks!
The BEST milk out there! We love it and are so glad to have coupons for it!! Every little bit helps!
the quart size are on sale at Meijer for $2.99 this week
3 bucks for a quart…you guys are the best entertainment ever. Read the science…dairy contains lactose.
Read the product ingredient list…contains lactase,,https://fairlife.com/our-products/whole-milk/
This comments is NOT meant for Laura, but for anyone thinking this is lactose free. It might be a better product, but one might get better and less expensive results by increasing lactase tablets and/or increasing fat content.
LactOse and LactAse are not the same thing. Fairlife filters OUT the lactose.
Chocolate contains sucrolose which can raise blood sugar sensitivity. I am horribly allergic and get instant migranes with severe vertigo. Be careful.
I was disappointed to see this on the label too.
It also has Carrageenan, which can cause stomach issues too. My husband switched to almond milk after he found out he had T2 Diabetes a few years ago. After a while, he started complaining about stomach cramps, gassiness and other issues. Never thought about the ingredients until someone had posted here about it. Sure enough the almond milk he’d been drinking contained it. So I stopped buying it until I found one without that ingredient. Most brands have removed carrageenan now, but my husband doesn’t want to drink Almondmilk anymore since he tried Fairlife.
Thanks! This will go great with the gift card I should be getting for being chosen for the fairlife house party! I hope there’s a sale close by for even more savings!
How cool! You’re very welcome!
Thanks for posting this. I buy Fairlife when it’s on sale for $3 or less. Be careful with the chocolate. It’s high in sodium.
Thanks for the heads up! YW!
Does anyone tried this milk to make coffee and tea?
My son adds the chocolate to his coffee all the time. Loves it! We love Fairlife!!!

I LOVE this product. The milk comes from home state of Indiana!
This milk tastes fine and it’s great that it’s low in sugar, but it has sucralose in it. I’d much rather just buy storebrand lactose free. Kroger has a slim that tastes like 2% and a 1% chocolate milk that are both lactose free. They also have a “carb saver” store brand that is comparable to Fairlife for a cheaper price…just an FYI
I have been using this milk for over a year now. It is the best out there. I will never switch back to anything else. And I’m not even lactose intolerant! I don’t care how much it cost I will only buy Fairlife. It is the best tasting milk ever!
I havn’t tried to white milk, but the chocolate is AMAZING!
My coupons printed with a 52oz size restriction. Has anyone been able to use them on the smaller size?
Mine didn’t print with any size restriction, just says off One Bottle.
I had tried this when meijer had it as a freebie! they were out often and then had a ton – so they were discounted to .99 when they had a ton left close to date. so i tried lots of this milk (chocolate & white) lol. we especially loved the chocolate!
And i’m glad my .75 Q “reset”. i printed it on 3/18 & it expired 3/20! ๐
My daughter has to drink whole lactaid, and I’m excited to try this since it’s cheaper and has such great feedback. However, I don’t like how they insinuate they remove all the lactose in their filtration process, when in reality if that were the case they wouldn’t need to add lactase to their products. Lactase is just neutralizing the effects of the lactose, just like with Lactaid and all other “lactose free” products. There’s nothing wrong with that at all, I just don’t like supporting companies who word things to make you think something about their products that isn’t true. It’s dishonest. In this case, they want you to think they’re ultra special and filter out lactose, when in reality they’re doing the same thing everyone else does to help with the lactose issue. Adding lactase enzyme. Notice how they avoid actually saying anywhere that they filter out lactose specifically, it just says they reduce the sugar and that it’s lactose free (by adding lactase, not actually taking it all out). Companies who are disingenuous about things that don’t really matter, like their insinuation about removing lactose, make me nervous about what else they aren’t being truthful about.๐ We’ll still try it because of the price, but I’m less excited about it now.
Add me to those that love the taste of their chocolate milk. OMG! I normally don’t like milk no matter what flavor it is. Their chocolate milk is devine!
If anyone lives in OH or PA and goes to Giant Eagle, these are on sale starting today 10/$10, so these are FREE there. ๐
These coupons CAN”T be used on the small bottles. They say in the fine print at the bottom VALID ON ANY 52 oz bottle. Easy to miss but it does have a size restriction!
You are so right – we somehow missed this fine print when we posted these coupons yesterday! Thank you for bringing this to our attention. The post has been updated.
I absolutely love FairLife milk. However, I have to travel to purchase it. A year ago, I spoke to someone at FairLife via email, because my local Walmart only carries FairLife whole and chocolate. I’d prefer 2% or nonfat. She asked for Walmart location, I gave gave the info and a year later still no 2% or nonfat. Again, I am addicted to this product and it does help with my lactose problem. Why can’t we get FairLife 2% or nonfat on Walmart’s shelf? They devote over 2 store refrigerators to other gallon sized milk. Squeezing 4′ of shelf space for FairLife 2% should not be a problem?
I been drinking fairlife since I saw it on TV and I introduced it to my family, that like the way it taste,it don’t tasteless the other milk. I can drink it without any problem with my digestive system. It us smother tasting. Thank you Fairlife company for taking pride in your milk.
Hi, I’m lactose free but have tried many of the shakes and none are that great, yours are alittle bit higher are there any coupons out there so I can try it and see if I like it first before committing to the cost?
