If you love creating handmade items, you may be interested in applying for a chance to cast in a new TV Series called The Handmade Project!
The Handmade Project will be an unscripted competition series on NBC co-hosted by Amy Poehler and Nick Offerman, known from the popular series Parks and Recreation. Each series will feature contestants who make handmade, DIY projects based on different themes.
I like crafts…can I apply?
You could be a household hacker, a DIY decorator, a quilter, knitter, furniture maker, a scrapbooker, basket weaver, needle pointer, cake decorator, wood worker, metal worker or welder, accessory or jewelry maker, doll maker, textile maker, shibori expert, potter, hand-builder, paper crafter, leather or denim worker, costume maker, an artisan or maker of any type… basically any super creative person who loves making things by hand. I wish I wasn’t too chicken to apply.. but I also work full time and would never be able to get the time off. Sounds fun, especially with Amy Poehler and Nick Offerman!

I don’t think so, where’s the fun in that?! Lol. It says age isn’t looked at for the creative criteria. Go for it!
I took a look at the application, definitely doesn’t look like it’s for a casual crafter (like myself). Pretty detailed. Hopefully a hip2saver gets to do it though, that’d be pretty cool!

Looked it over…I guess you go on for the exposure only? I didn’t see anything about prize winnings…maybe im.greedy.
Each week eight all-around makers, from all walks of life, will take on a series of projects with the hopes of impressing Poehler, Offerman and our expert judges. Over the course of each episode, the contestants must tackle a different theme, hand-making items in different disciplines — the difficulty of which increases with every episode until a winner is crown. Shot in an outdoor setting, the series will also focus on the characters and camaraderie of those who enjoy creating their own crafts, all under the comedic guidance of Poehler and Offerman.

I just tried applying for the second time, and for the second time my information disappear as I was busy uploading pictures.
