Happy Friday: Fun Thrift Store Find (Vintage Coupons w/ No Expiration Date)
Sent from reader, Sharon:
Like many here, I love thrift stores. I especially love to open boxes and bins to see if anything is inside. One of my favorite finds just recently was a tin full of vintage coupons with no expiration date! There are items like Charmin, Raisin Bran, Aunt Jemima, and so many more. I have heard these can still be used today! They are low amounts (10¢-50¢), but could be helpful stacked with deals. I only paid $1.50 for the entire box.
I also wanted to share because I feel such a kinship with the person who saved these all these years, and am so thankful to have found them! I want that person to know they are in a new home that values them too.
HAPPY FRIDAY!

Speaking of thrift stores, check out my Video from 2012 where I head to Goodwill to do some shopping!
That’s a really amazing find!
I have alot of these. When I use some of them the cashier looks at me and says, I can’t use these I can’t scan them. I laugh and say they are oldies but goodies but they are good.
Jjae, as an old time couponer, these are not unfamiliar to me. I still have some from over 30 years ago. However, the cashier is most likely correct not to take them. If there is no barcode, the coupon does not scan. Perhaps because they do not have a barcode they may be ineligible for reimbursement from the coupon processing center.
Many stores’ coupon policies say that a coupon has to have an expiration date to be accepted
What a cool find! I remember my Mom using coupons like these. I was her coupon holder when we went grocery shopping 😊
Wow1 Way to go! In our world thats like finding Gold! Well not quite… Gold would be better but I bet it was pretty exciting to find these!
I have a shoe box filled with these! Lololol!
I found some of these that were my grandmother’s not to long ago. Very neat!
Yes definitely very cool!
I’ll be honest I don’t know if I would use these just the nostalgia to them I’d probably hate to part with them
I’m vintage (old) enough to to have some of these myself. If you try to use them, it depends on the store. Some won’t take them because they say THEY can’t redeem them with the manufacturer without a bar code. Many of the items, particularly cereals, no longer exist. That hasn’t prevented me from keeping them in my coupon box!☺
Very Cool!
It would be coll do decoupage them on a frame or a canvas with a picture
Love that idea!
I cashiered for 8 yrs at Walmart. Technology has improved vastly since these were produced. Gone are the days of hand keying, now each one has scannable barcodes. Stores policy was not to take them w/o an expiration date.
I know that Walmart won’t take them, the only place I’ve been able to use the old ones is Fareway.
I have a shoebox full of older coupons, all unexpired, too but they are too good to throw out. Let me know if any of you are interested in having that box? It is yours but only for shipping fee.
I want them please; )
