Save even more on Nest products after rebates!
Head over here and enter in your zip code to see what rebates and/or rewards are available to you when you purchase Nest products. These discounts will vary per person depending on where you live. As an idea, if you purchase and install a Nest Thermostat, you can score a $50 rebate from the Energy Trust of Oregon. Or, if you live in Texas you may be able to get a Nest Thermostat for FREE from IGS Energy, Infinite Energy or Reliant.
Check your gas company and or your electric company for rebates!!!. Last year we installed 2 nest wifi thermostats and received $200 from vectren gas and $150 from duke energy (more restrictions, gas company easier and great service)
I was just going to post the same thing! My electric supplier ComEd just sent me an email this morning. After instant rebates, 3rd generation Nest is $150
Sorry $119 is the total after rebate!
Have the Nest and we love it!
Yes, check with your energy provider for any rebates. My husband and I were able to get money back for installing a new furnace, Windows, doors, lightbulbs and installation(we bought a foreclosure/ fixer upper). Our rebate was so big it’s covered our energy bill for the last six months and we still have credit left!! Always worth a check.
Check with your gas company too. We have Nicor and they had a $50 rebate when we did this around Christmas. After everything, the nest only cost us $50! (The gas company rebate starts out saying you need to have a professional install it but then on the last page there’s an option to check that you installed it yourself. We got our check no problem!)
Thanks for the helpful tip! Good to know!
We have a Nest Thermostat and absolutely love it, don’t know which one though, but being able to be downstairs and control the A/C from my cell phone instead of going up the stairs is just awesome! Very worth the investment in my book.
How cool! Thanks for sharing your experience!
Is your power company offering you a rebate because it gets to control your temperature? That is the case in my area. They keep offering to give us a new thermostat, (I’m not sure what brand). But if you do so it also gives the power company the power to remotely commandeer your thermostat as they choose which means turning off your air conditioner in the summer. Living in the southwest where temperatures are typically115 in July I’m not interested in being miserable. We haven’t taken them up on their offer. Free comes with strings attached.
You need a log-in to control the thermostat. We’ve never given it to our provider and have never had an issue with our thermostat. The rebate (as It was explained to us) is because these thermostats adjust themselves to the needs of the home so it helps cut back on energy costs.
I’m in San Antonio, TX and our power company offers free thermostats too but the can override your settings… just like Melissa described above.
Melissa – Electric distribution companies offer these discounts for a variety of reasons that benefit the customer, the environment, and the electric grid. I’d encourage you to call your electric company’s customer service dept. I would imagine they can provide you with some peace of mind dear. 😀
If you want to purchase two do you get $80 in Kohl’s cash? Or do you have to do two separate transactions?
You can buy both in one transaction and receive $80 Kohl’s cash 🙂
Thanks!
YW!
I would buy from bed bath and beyond as it has same price and you can use 20% off coupon that makes it only 175 saving you 43$.
Unfortunately you can’t use a coupon on the nest products at bed bath and beyond
Got this at the Mynavyexchange website for $184.75. Also if you are looking at purchasing that Ring doorbell, they are on sale at Lowes for $159.20. the cheapest I found and get addt 10% of for military!
I received my Nest for free last year from GA power, they don’t control your thermostat but I did switch to a different energy plan(smart usage) for 1 year. it offers low rates during off-peak times and a rate based on your highest total demand during a 30-minute window.
Just got this via Nest’s site. Our utility provider was giving a $125 instant rebate so got one for $115 total. 🙂
Sweet! Thanks for sharing!
Does anyone know if you can use a 30% off coupon at Kohls when the Ring is at regular price of $250.00?
i wish i have this kind of money lol
