I love SW paint! I got some when they had their 40% off sale and it really is amazing how much smoother it goes on and better it looks when finished compared to the cheap paint I usually buy. If you wait for a good deal like this you can get it at the same price as the cheaper paints and it truly is worth it.

I had my house exterior painted last year, used super paint for the siding and the mid grade for the trim, it looks amazing and has held up really well, cleans easily. I bought it during this sale and it saved me hundreds!! Totally recommend.

I am a professional painter and we only use SW paints, unless client requests ben moore. If you are not sure what color you want the paint but want to take advantage of the sale, you can buy the paint as plain white now and bring it back later to have tinted. Same for primer, it can be tinted too! Best if you know you will need 2 coats. Paint the tinted primer first then tinted paint, especially on new drywall. It is cheaper this way too.

Love this paint. My husband and I recently had new siding put up on our house and garage and used Sherwin Williams paint for all of the siding and trim work. We were SO HAPPY with the paint!!! It is a bit pricey, but for a good reason. I can’t express the great quality of this paint, except to say that you won’t be disappointed if you buy this. Good luck painting everyone!!!

      Perfect!

Anyone used SW deck solid color stain? Wondering how it holds up. TIA

  2. Jona

Looking to stain our deck as well. Any recommendations?

I’ve heard from a couple friends to NOT get the Restore deck paint (not stain, but a thick coat of protective something). It’s a product from Home Dept or Lowes, not SW. Love SW paint and at 40% off & coupon I’ll buy some cans without color!! (And go back to have them add the color later.)

      • Kimberly (Stylish Sidekick)

OH WOW…going back to add color is a fantastic idea! Thanks for sharing!

How long can you store paint? Does it matter if it’s open or unopened can? Does the quality change when you store it?

    • TrueBlue

Store it inside so it doesn’t get drastic temperature changes which can ruin the paint.

Theres so many choices. We bought a few Emerald(green cans)& decided to mix a yr later. We chose the color & were ready to mix, SW said our choice of paint wasn’t the best for the color we chose(!). Also we had to factor how much sunlight the room gets(hardly any). We were stuck with paint cans we couldn’t really use (we still could use the paint but not get the results/outcome we wanted on our walls).

How often does this sale happen? We are starting to build a house and I’m wondering when the next sale might be.

    • PDX To OGG Mama

It seems like SW has the 40% off sale at least a couple times a year and then they also alternate with 30% off too. They told me the paint would last unopened for years, but I bought 4 cans thinking we’d use it within the year and so far no problems.

      • Bluewatergirl

Let me tell you this. . . We have our leftover paint from painting the interior and exterior of our home using SW paint. 13 years later (like right now) I’m using the trim paint to touch up my house. It’s still perfect!

      • Gorilla momma

I was told once a quarter. so four times a year. Which is also what I have seemed to remember in the past anyways too!

    • Elizabeth

If you are lucky, they might tell you at the store. I had one employee look at a calendar they had in the back and tell me when the next one was once.

    • momo

At least 1x/yr when u get 40% & can use coupon. Otherwise it’s usually 30%.

Does this work on the sample cans? I paint the windows with seasonal designs at my office and like using SW paint.

  6. Bridget

Can the 10 off 50 be used with the 40 percent off?

    • Elizabeth

      Yes, it can.

  7. Jess

Yesss!!! Just what we need!! 🎉

  8. Ann

Thanks so much for posting I was wondering when this might be!!!! I need to paint a few things so really happy! 🙂

    Hello,

I just wanted to contribute to this:
We are repainting almost all of our brand new home since we didn’t like the color that came with it. Along with this sale, if we signup for PaintPerks on SW website, we score an extra 10% all the purcahses which will make this sale ever sweeter at 50% and still can use any other coupons. For example, wayfair.com offers $15 OFF of $60 or more : https://www.wayfair.com/Sherwin-Williams-C1843705.html

We called local store to make sure all the available coupons can be used to along with PaintPerks and SW % sale.
    Hope this helps!!
