Hello, Anyone own this printer or have any suggestions?
My brother in law( high school student) need one printer, is it good to him?
    thanks

It doesn’t print great photos, but other than that, I like it. It’s simple to use, print and copy quality is good and I don’t feel like it uses a ton of ink.

    Is the ink expensive?

    • Mel

I don’t think it is. I’ve never felt like it was expensive to the point that I needed to look at using an off brand.

Hp ink is expensive. We usually fill our own cartridges but having problems with our newer hp. After refilling the printer gives cartridge error as if it knows it has been refilled. Horrible problems with hp wifi printer

I recently purchased the 7600 version of the HP Envy (includes faxing) anc it is absolutely incredible. Nice big screen and works great!! I definitely recommend. This is a fantastic deal!

    • Dana

Thanks for that recommendation. I need one with a fax!

      • Lore

You’re welcome, Dana. I had an incredible lder HP All-in-one with a fax, but the fax never worked very well on it. My new Envy works incredibly well. It works as well as a stand alone fax machine. I love my new HP printer!

If you are looking at purchasing an HP printer, get one that has the instant ink program. This print is on the list for this program. HP monitors the ink levels and send the ink right to your house!! All you have to do is pick a monthly plan based on the amount of pages you print and not the ink that you use. I suggest looking into this if you are getting a new printer. Only certain HP printers qualify for the instant ink program so make sure you do some research first. If you sign up, I have a code you can use and we will both get a free month. I have been using the instant ink program for almost three years and I love it. I don’t work for HP, I am a teacher and I print A LOT of my class.

I am on the HP Ink program as well, It’s only 2.99 a month for the first 50 pages. I really like it.

This printer was super easy to hook up and I also plan on doing the instant ink program – but be careful, as my mother has this same printer and she says even if you print one thing in a page, that counts as one page. So try to maximize your print on full pages to fully make it cost efficient . I think I will keep backup ink cartridges at all times because if you are stuck in the middle of printing and run out of ink totally while on the program, you have to wait for ink to be delivered to you which could take up to 3 days.
