I have a KitchenAid with the lift head. It wobbles terribly. I’m considering buying this style. Would love to have some feedback on how the two compare. Will I like the lift bowl style?? Thanks.
I have the lift bowl style and love it! I’ve had mine for about 6 years now and use it often with no trouble!
We have the lift bowl and love it, we’ve done several double batches of cookies over Christmas with no wobbling.
Hmmm. That’s strange I have the lift head but no wobbles, even when kneading dough. I love mine. Maybe I just have not done a stiff enough dough to make it wobble…
I have a lift head one too and never wobbled. I bake every other day and done all kinds of dough and no wobbles. Had t for almost 7 years.hth
Leanne, I’d contact customer service….bet you’d get a replacement one. Mine never wobbles. Couldn’t hurt to ask them.
I have the lift head style and mine wobbled so much while making dough that it fell off the counter and damaged my hardwood floor. Customer service was not helpful and all. They said if I had not walked away from the mixer then it wouldn’t have fallen so it’s my fault.
I bought this style from Target. It’s very heavy so you need to keep it in one place on your counter (assuming you have enough counter space). Also it’s quite difficult getting the bowl to snap in place. Ultimately I returned mine. Others may have a better experience with this, but I would prefer the lift head.
Thanks for the honest feedback Gerta!
Love my Kitchen Aid mixer! Wouldn’t want to be without one.
Glad to hear how much you like yours Mary! Thanks for sharing!
Can anyone give me an opinion on this mixer? Want to buy but not sure if it is good or easy to use? Any suggestion, I don t mind it costs a bit more, but something good is worth it. Thanks
You can buy a cover for the mixing bowl that has a spout to add ingredients, mine came with it and it is awesome so you don’t need to keep lifting the head to add items.
My daughter at age 8 has lift d the bowl with instruction, changed attachments and started the mixer with no problem. Once you figure it out it’s pretty straight forward
I have a lift and my mom has this model. It is good, but different- you have to take the attachment off before to can get the bowl off. Sometimes a pain when it’s full if dough. But it works well and does the job. Lift head is a pain because there is not much clearance to add ingredients when mixing. Both have pros and cons in my opinion.
Thanks for the helpful review Mel! Good to know!
I have this model and love it! You do have to push hard to get the bowl in place but it’s not something I would consider to be s reason to not purchase it.
Thanks so much for sharing your experience!
The three “attachments” come standard with any K.A. Mixer (flat, wisk, & dough hooks). Good price on the professional. I ordered a basic one a few years ago for the same price.
Thank you, was about the post the same thing. Those are standard items, I thought maybe it came with something special.
Is this the same product as the kohls deal? Wouldn’t Kohl’s be a better price?
Ordered one! Thanks!
You’re welcome!
No other mixer compares to KitchenAid! I love the lift handle much better than a pop off Bowl as well.
Thanks for all the feedback! Still uncertain bc I don’t like the idea of this one being so heavy. I keep mine out of sight and am afraid I would dread lugging it out for use. But my lift head model is just so annoying. The beater scratches the bottom of the bowl to the point the paint has come off the beater. I guess we ate it in something. 😳
As someone who used to work at Kitchenaid, this model of mixer is FAR superior to the one with the lifting-head. I use it for so much stuff that I just leave it on my counter. However, in a previous house I didn’t have the counterspace so I got one of the cabinet-inserts that swings up and out to lift the mixer into position but keeps it stored in the cabinet out of the way! Worked great. There are several different brands but here’s a link the first one that popped at Lowes so you can see what I’m talking about 🙂 . https://www.lowes.com/pd/Rev-A-Shelf-5-in-W-x-5-in-H-Metal-1-Tier-Cabinet-Lift-Shelf/3107255
My Target had some KitchenAid mixers on clearance for $175 this past Saturday.
