DIY floating drink cooler filled with water bottles

Need cold drinks handy for your pool party? 🍹

Make this fun, frugal, and easy floating pool noodle cooler, perfect to keep cold drinks in while swimming! My kids and I made this together yesterday from dollar store items, and we loved this creative hack for fun in the sun! Better yet? This project only cost us about $5 per cooler, and we can use it each summer!

I think it would be fun to buy different colored noodles for a rainbow-themed cooler! You can also look for pool noodles in your college or sports team colors for a fun game day cooler display! However you personalize your cooler, it’s going to be a hit on those hot summer days!

Floating Pool Noodle Cooler

I found this fun hack on DollarTree.com!

Supplies Needed from the Dollar Store:

  • plastic dish pan
  • pool noodle
  • twine

Directions:

  1. Cut pool noodle to the same lengths of each side of the bin.
  2. Thread twine through all four sections of the pool noodle.
  3. Cut and tie the twine tightly at one corner, so it will fit right under the lip of the pan. Note: Don’t worry if the noodle part doesn’t stay tightly on the pan outside of the pool, it will still float.
  4. Place ice and drinks inside and use it as a floating cooler!

This would be great for the lake, however I don’t think I would want people drinking soda in my pool… Cool idea though…
