Did you know that Staples offers a 110% price match guarantee?
It’s true! If you find a currently available lower price on a new and identical item, just show the Staples cashier or an associate at the customer service desk the lower price when you buy the item at Staples and they will match it plus will discount it by 10% of the difference.
And if you purchase an item from Staples and tell them within 14 days that you found that item at a lower price in their stores or online at Staples.com, they’ll refund the difference! Check out more details HERE.
I always snag deals for school here! The one thing I warn everyone about is their brand of pencils. They STINK! They were so bad with breakage and splintering we tossed them. Didn’t have receipt(bad, I know).
Their mechanical pencils are equally as crappy. Avoid those too!!
I will only buy Ticonderoga pencils any more. I’ve become a pencil snob since using those last year.
Gah! Every year – Staples w/the Wescott wooden rulers that only show inches! LOL
Just a heads up for shoppers who are in a hurry/not checking details (a lot of us!!) — these wooden rulers are marked only with inches; no centimeters on the other side! Most supply lists note if a student needs a ruler w/both measurements, so check that out before you snag these (I’ve heard art classrooms often are just looking for the straight edge from them and not the measurements, if that helps).
–Much <3
-The Mom Who Didn't Notice This Until After She Bought Them Other Year (& then promptly returned them 😉
Thanks for pointing this out! Crazy that this ruler doesn’t include centimeters.
From a fourth grade teacher thank you for pointing this out! We use both standard and metric units in 4th grade and students need a ruler with both measurements 🙂
Where are the folders? 😀
My son got out of school a week ago
All schools start at end at different times. My college starts August 7. That’s only a few weeks away.
We go back to school Aug 3! So 1 month countdown.
Let the kids have a summer!
What does this have to do anything to do with each other?
Schools in our district go year around. They go back in 2 weeks.
Waiting for washable markers to go cheaper than 3 dollar
My store has the 8 count Crayola washable markers for $2.
May I ask is it the best price already for buying crayola colors and glue sticks? Or should I wait and a better back to school is coming? Thanks.
As a Staples employee who’s worked 2 BTS seasons, I don’t believe our prices go any lower.
However, if you keep your receipt, office supplies can be returned any time, and you can re-purchase them to get the difference. Just don’t actually use the items.
Good to know! Thank you!
markers and coloured pencils don’t get much cheaper than the .97- but crayons will go to .25 at office depot and target. so wait on crayons 🙂 glue sticks will get a better deal as well.
I am not sure how many glue sticks you need. We need 36 for 2 kids! You can get a pack of 60 on amazon right now with free shipping for prime members for $13. That is about the same as getting 3 packs here with 24.
Crayons .50 so this is awesome. Glue sticks I say .25 per glue stick.
The shipping information needs to be updated. They’ve officially increased the free shipping minimum from 14.99 to 49.99. Crazy, huh?
Hi there! I still find that regular shipping for rewards members is Free on orders $14.99 or more. Hope that helps!
Where do you see it is $14.99? I just signed up for rewards and it says $49.99 for next day shipping. I don’t have an option for $14.99 shipping.
I just live chatted with Staples and they said shipping is free for orders $49.99 or more or you could ship to the store for free.
Hi Melissa! It appears that regular shipping is $14.99 for members. Be sure you are logged in to your account. If still having issues, maybe try it in a different browser. Hope this helps!
Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo Not Yet
Do they really need to advertise back to school sales already? Sheesh!!!! Kids just got out of school. Can’t we enjoy summer first 😉
Today is July. My kids have been out since May 25th. School starts in 5 weeks here.
We actually have year round school as an option where I live, and school starts July 11th. This is perfect!
OMG! What state do you live in, if you don’t mind? My son just told me that he wished he had school year-round with 3 or 4 short breaks, throughout. Rather than a long summer break. He’s an oddity, I know. But, he LOVES school.
I’m in Charlotte and while our county doesn’t do year round, some charter schools do. Raleigh, NC is also another area that does year round. Lots of benefits to year round school. I was quite intrigued! Two weeks off for fall break, winter break, spring break and they still manage 4-6 weeks off in summer.
I live in Iowa. There are only a few schools in the state that do year round that I am aware of.
Some schools go back soon.
My first thought was wow it’s a little early for back to school. Then I realized my kids are still in school, year round school!
Where do find year round school?
Honestly, I’m just waiting for glue to go on sale so we can make more slime haha
lol me too
If you do Amazon subscribe and save I added a gallon of Elmer’s to my monthly order for $11 yesterday.
Do u have a good recipe for slime? I would like to try it with you kids. Thanks!
Anyone know of a good deal on a chromebook for students?
Thanks!
I saw an Asus one as Costco yesterday…wanna say around $200? HTH!
Karen, starting tomorrow 7/3 there is a deal on a Samsung chromebook at Office Depot for $169. Their weekly ad is up on their website!
Just for funsies, I went back in time a year to look at Office depots sales – there were markers, glue sticks, crayons, notebooks all for $.25, some things $.01, and ticonderoga pencils $1 – which are the best – I think their sales just start later.
Aren’t there usually limits on these? Every time I use staples during the sales they have a one or two item limit for them.
Many Southern schools start in August and get out before Memorial day. Virginia is an exception as their is a state law that they can’t start till after Labor day. Each school system sets their own calendar.
None of the sale prices were marked at the Staples I went to today. I had to gather the items I thought were on sale and have the cashier price check them. It took a lot longer to find things than it should have.
Staples has a large variety of items for sale. We all know that generic and store brand items are often not the same quality as named brand items. It is up to the consumer to make decisions on what they purchase, no matter where they shop. I shop sales but am careful as to what I buy and have never had any problems with the items I purchase from Staples. It is my favorite store.
