Get a $4.99 credit after your first press!

Even sweeter, Amazon is also still offering a $4.99 credit after your first press. After factoring in this $4.99 credit, it’s as if you are scoring a Dash Button completely FREE plus making an extra $4 after the credit is applied to your account.

WHAT IS DASH BUTTON?

Amazon Dash Button is a Wi-Fi connected device that reorders your favorite product with the press of a button. Each Dash Button is paired with a product of your choice, which is selected during the set-up process. When you’re running low, simply press Dash Button—ensuring you never run out of your essentials again.

And don’t fret as there is order protection! With this setting, Dash Button will not place a new order until your prior order is delivered—regardless of how many times Dash Button is pressed. You will also receive an order notification for every order placed and you can cancel orders at any time before they are marked as “Shipping Soon”.

Do these buttons sound useless to you? Here are a few reader comments from past posts:

I think this concept would be helpful for our aging parents and older adults that can’t drive or have difficulty shopping, etc. For example, the dog food dash button is perfect for my mother-in-law. She can’t walk around in a store anymore and has trouble lifting items. She is not tech savvy enough to order online but we can set this up in her house for her to push when she needs dog food!

I think the idea is that you can place the button right near where you use the item, so that right when you realize you’re low/need it, you can press it to order so that you don’t forget. I often realize I need something in the moment, only to get distracted and forget about it shortly thereafter.

Is the $4.99 credit after your first press only good toward that product or a general credit for anything?
Also, can you only get 1 $4.99 credit total , or is it for each dash button you have?

    • Sarah

It says in the description “after your first press,” so I understand that as you will receive credit back for that specific product you bought the dash button for.

  2. Kathryn

Thanks! Just bought way too many dash buttons!

    • Hannah (Sensational Sidekick)

Hahaha me too! You are so welcome! 🙂

  3. sann

But doesn’t the price fluctuate? You could be paying a ton at times and not know it until you look at your account.

    • Jackie

I know, that scares me also.

    • Hannah (Sensational Sidekick)

I looked into this and you will immediately get a message to your phone upon pressing the button and have 30 minutes to cancel if you press by accident or do not like the price, etc. Also, it says, “Buy with confidence. Get the same low prices we offer on Amazon.com.” Hope this info helps!

      • brittany

That’s great to know! I was also concerned about the fluctuating prices.

I noticed while looking through the items you can buy with each button that some were add on items. Does that mean you can get those items with dash buttons without reaching the $25 threshold? I have never used one.

    • brittany

I wondered that too… or if they hold it until your order reaches the $25 threshold.

I’ll be honest, I still can’t find a useful purpose for this. Generally most home products would be cheaper at a club store or generic. I suppose if you had money and weren’t near a store or more rural it might serve a purpose. I love technology(especially from Amazon), but this has always seemed unnecessary to me.

    • visitor3

Agreed. This is just not a good idea, long-term…. more landfill clutter and impulse spending.

I’m so confused as well. These are on your dashboard in the app. For free. And you can purchase any item any time. I just don’t understand why you would pay to have these things sitting around.

    • Lena

I thought the same thing until I got them! For me, the most convenient are the large items – paper towels and toilet paper – that are too bulky to take a buggy to my car or from my car upstairs to my home while carrying groceries or other items. The other pro is for things that are a nuisance to run out of – ziplock bags, trash bags, etc. IMO Amazon is not about the best price around; it’s about the most convenient option around. My husband and I both work full time with around an hour drive to and from work. The last thing we want to do when we get home is have to get back in the car when we realize we are dangerously low on TP 🙂

    • sann

Lena, not sure your understanding what they are saying. It has nothing to do with ordering from Amazon, we can all agree that is extremely convenient. This has to do with the dash buttons. If you have to go on your phone anyway to make sure your okay with the price, why have all these little plastic things around your house? When you can set up in click ordering and the process is already so easy!

I like the subscribe and save better. But I do have a “memo to me” email reminder set to right before my order ships on the 20th of the month so I go check the price as my Salmon pouches almost doubled in price.

How can you tell that you’ll still receive the $4.99 credit? I see where it says buy it for $4.99 and receive a $4.99 credit, but just wondering if they will later say we didn’t buy it for $4.99 so that doesn’t apply?

    • ToriSC

You’ll receive the credit when you press the button for your first dash order. I had bought some on another .99 sale and misplaced them for 6 months. Finally found them, pressed the button & went online to view my order. Sure enough the discount was still there 6 months later. It is a ” for convenience item “. I use it for things that I am very brand specific about and don’t care about shopping around – such as Tampons which my daughter will only use 1 type of 1 particular brand. If you place it next to where you can see you are running low, you press the button & it orders for you. No trying to remember so you can run to the store. I’m a CPA in Buffalo, NY who works long hours during Tax season and the last thing I want to try to do is to remember to stop at the store on my way home in the snow. I press the button & let UPS worry about it.

Thank you! I appreciate your response. I may have gotten a little carried away picking out buttons … 🙂

I’m glad you have a chance to cancel… I can only imagine my toddler playing a fun game and then I receive 20 boxes of toilet paper!!! 😂😂😂😂😂😂
