Does anyone know how this compares to an Amazon Fire stick? Was planning on purchasing a fire stick since we have Amazon prime but would love to save some money if there isn’t much difference. New to streaming devices…
I have both. The Chromecast seems to play video smoother, but the fire TV stick has an entire app store and is more functional in my opinion. The Chromecast just displays whatever you send to it from another device, whereas the fire TV functions on its own without the need of another device. I like having both too be honest, but I use them for different things. Typically cast photos and YouTube videos to the Chromecast and use fire TV for prime video, PlayStation Vue, Netflix, etc. I actually have a Fire TV box as well, which is better than either one, but a bit more expensive.
Sorry, just re re-read your post and realized you plan to use it with prime video… In that case, I would definitely go with the fire stick.
Thank you for the reply….appreciate the helpful info!
