   Does anyone remember if last year’s Black Friday deals were similar to the Prime Day deals for Kindle tablets? I want to buy HD8 tablets as bday presents for my kids but I am worried about the 90 day limited warranty.

   I bought the 7 last year (the 5th generation kindle fires) for $33 and than $25 for the nice kid case. I am purchasing the new one today for my other girl for $30 for tablet and $20 for case 🙂 Not sure what the prices will be for black friday though if you want to wait.

  Thanks for the info. Just did some google searches. The 7 inch fires were 33 on both prime day and black friday. Really tempted to get the 2 pack 8inch kindles but don’t want them to sit around until their November bdays.

   There is also a 2-pack of the kids 8″ for $149, making them $75 a piece(vs $90 for just one). Yes you can get the adults version cheaper & buy a case, but I really think the 2 year(!)warranty plus 1 year free of Freetime, the kids is definitely worth it.

  I got this too! Only both my kids wanted pink and they gave two different color options. So I had to tell them they were out of pink and convince the younger one that the yellow is like minions! I’m a crafter so I’ll probably add vinyl to the case backs anyway!

  OMG YOU ARE SO SMART! Kid #1 has pink and Kid #2 has blue, so I was trying to convince #3 Yellow was the way to go. If only I had thought of that – just put some big google eye stickers on the back and its a minion! Of course, then they’d all be fighting over the yellow one!

  Thanks for the info. I went ahead and ordered the 2 pack kids HD8 tablets. I chatted with a customer service rep to confirm the kindle Freetime doesn’t start until device is registered. Giving them as presents in November, still getting a free year of Freetime. Warranty starts from the date it’s shipped, but not too worried about this. My kids are still using the kindles I bought in Nov, 2012!
