Does anyone know how to evaluate these tires? It sounds like they aren’t good for winter weather? I just found out I should get some new tires. Thanks!
My husband works for Michelin and he would say never to buy cheap tires like this. He knows too much.
Wish your husband could kick some butt in the Michelin Warranty Department for me. Our 90K Michelin Defenders only made it 48K on our minivan before they were spent, and they were regularly rotated. Our local tire place submitted them for warranty coverage for us back in February and we are STILL waiting, it’s fairly ridiculous. By coincidence, we just put Cooper CS5s on our other car a few weeks ago. Our local shop is quite reputable and they recommend them over some cheaper ones. We’ve had good luck with Cooper before as a good mid-grade tire, and hey, they were $300 cheaper than those Defenders…
What about installation? Discount tire (for example) charges $29/tire for install if you bring in your own tires
It seems like it’s only that one size. 🙁
Walmart tire center is a joke. We kept two of our snow tires and the guy put them in the back seat (in plastic) even though he saw I had kids with me. Um, hello? Put them in the trunk! And all of my tires were underinflated. I had to stop and put my own air in.
Sam’s Club too. They installed tires designed to roll only one direction the wrong way and ruined the tires.
I have Cooper tires but I get them from my tire guy. They are fine but you have to rotate regularly like any
Thanks for sharing your experience with these tires Jennifer! Good to know!
I don’t need tires right now but I had a great experience with Walmart tires. I would go back anytime. I had bought my previous pair from Firestone and they were $1500 and did not last that long. The last pair I got from Walmart for under $400 and they have lasted longer than the Firestone ones. I was surprised with how great the whole experience was.
Oh awesome! Glad to hear you had a great experience with Walmart when grabbing tires! Thanks for the feedback!
Are these still available?
Bummer! This deal is gone 🙁
Nothing cheap about these tires. I have on both My cars and they are excellent! I live in Houston, not up north though, so I can say about winter.
