WOW, well this whole ordeal just about caused me to have a nervous breakdown! I’ve been planning a big Kohl’s purchase for well over a week now, then I found out about the mystery savings code this morning when I discovered a 30% off code in my app. So, I spent an hour or 2 shopping around some more, then was lucky enough to get a 40% code from somebody that posted it on here…OR SO I THOUGHT! OMG, so there I was finalizing the checkout process for my big purchase and nearly had a heart attack when I first discovered the 40% off code was no longer saved in my app… So I went back and entered the code again and it gave me an error saying that the code has already been redeemed. Somebody please tell me what the hell just happened! How does this work exactly…I assumed once I successfully entered the 40% off promo code in my app, it was mine & only mine to redeem…is that not the case? Could it be that it accepted the code as a valid code, but once I tried to apply it to my purchase, it gave me an error message saying it had already been redeemed the maximum amount of times because I in fact was not the first one to enter the 40% off code in my app like I originally thought? Or would someone have been able to enter the code their app and apply it to their purchase after I entered it in my app, because I had not used it towards my purchase yet? I mean geez what a frenzy…would it really just kill Kohl’s to give everyone the same discount?!?! Ugh!
Actually, whoever checks out first and completes their purchase wins the race. Adding the code in the app does not reserve it for your use only. Sorry things didn’t work out. I hope you were still able to use your 30% off.
Yes I was able to get 30%, however, due to the last second mix up, plus the fact that the app kept crashing on me every 5min, my purchase was complete at 12:00am sharp…it went through just fine, but then they turned around and cancelled it. I’m just beyond pis**d off! I haven’t even mustered up the will to call them and see if anything can be done to put my order through.
Yeah, no, getting someone to send it to you via email is the only way to ensure it is still available to use. While I believe most of us try to act in good faith and how we would wish to be treated ourselves, this is an entirely public forum and there are clearly bad actors out there. It has happened to me also, even after commenting “Used,” anyone can and will grab and use it/check out. ;(
