Anyone have this car seat??
I have the original that doesn’t have the removable cover and love it. It is pretty bulky, though- if you’re looking for something smaller it probably isn’t the best for you.
We love ours! We also have the one without the zipper – but I’m going to get this one for baby #2. It’s rated the best car seat on Consumer Reports.
We have 2 different seats- this one and a Graco. My daughter always seems more comfortable in this seat- especially for longer car rides. When she was rear facing it had several position options which is nice. The one thing that we don’t love is how high the sides are- trying to get her in there can be hard and I have accidentally bumped her head a few times. If you have an SUV that might not be an issues. It is also difficult to tighten the straps while in rear facing, but that is an issue across most rear facing seats, given that you are essentially pulling directly in to the seat so it is hard to get leverage.
I have this car seat and absolutely cannot stand it. I would not recommend this for anyone.
Ditto. It’s so hard to get kids in and out. I love my Britax marathon though.
Bummer! Sorry to hear you did not care for it 🙁 Thanks for the honest feedback!
I have two and love them! Going to order another for my other child!
Sweet! Thanks for sharing! Happy you can score another one on the cheap!
Hard to get kids out..esp my 4 yr old. Hard for her to buckle and un buckle bottom buckle. BUT….easiest install ever!! Great quality.
Thanks for the review! Good to know!
I have 2 of these and love them! They are extremely well made and feel like a luxury seat. I prefer these over my Britix seats. My children sit comfortably for long car rides. They are large, so I wouldn’t recommend for a small vehicle. This is a great price!
I have to agree! We have a Chicco in one car and a britix in another! The cover in the britix is coming apart already! I will not buy anything but Chicco
Thanks for your helpful feedback on how big they are!
We have this carseat, 2 actually, it sits up high, the latch system is super easy to install with very minimal effort. I want to buy a 3rd for the other car. 9 recline positions basically fits in any car. Rear facing is a bit bulky and the strap cushions are non removable is the only thing, but so easy to adjust the straps without the need to remove the carseat or rethread them. 100% recommend.
Maybe they changed them since you bought yours, but I bought the zip in January and all the strap padding is removable. The ones at the shoulders just Velcro around the straps, the ones at the thighs are Velcro and loop under the seat cover and the one around the buckle comes out with a tab.
I had an unfortunate long car ride where my daughter got car sick twice and I had to take apart the whole seat to clean it. Was really happy I chose the zip at that point. It’s good as new now, you’d never know. Poor girl ruined and stained 2 outfits in the process but no stains on the car seat.
We currently have this one and have had the non-zip one. While its nice to be able to take it out, we have now twice broken the plastic part that holds the strap pull in at the bottom. It doesn’t affect safety, as its the inner workings that hold it tight, but its annoying and harder to loosen. Inwould have just stuck with the non-zip option.
I paid $215 plus tax for the non-zip version so this is a good deal. Agree with others about being bulky but it is highly rated for safety which is the deciding factor for me.
The Amuletta style is on sale for the same price, too.

I bought 1 almost full price for my now almost 3 year old. Out of the 3 different convertibles we have I love it. Super easy to install! I have a britiax and a safety 1st. I bought a used one when I was pregnant with baby #2. Just picked up a brand new one on clearance at target a few weeks ago for $100! My 2nd hasn’t outgrown my keyfit yet like my 1st had.
With cleaning I have the none zip ones. It was pretty easy to clean after watching a video. I’ve cleaned my 1st one twice so far. Super easy!
They are pretty big. I can sit in the back seat of my Toyota Corolla s with the nextfit and keyfit. Not comfortably though. My MIL has a Ford escape. And that I can fit I between. My son used to sweat a lot when he was rear facing. That’s my one draw back. And the sides are a little high. I have accidently bumped him a few times putting him in.
