Michaels: Possible $4 Grab Bags or Boxes
Michaels Shoppers!
You may want to swing by your nearest Michaels Craft store to see if they are offering up $4 Grab Bags and/or Boxes! Reader, Jamie, was at her local Michaels today in State College, PA and spotted tons of grab boxes for only $4 each. Some had home decor and candles and some had Disney Finding Dory and Lion Guard craft kits, Shopkins and more – one box contained well over $300 worth of home decor for just $4!
And reader Jo Ann found this $4 Grab Bag pictured below with over $100 in merchandise: The Create 365 planners run out in December but I will enjoy them until then. The two canisters were over $30 and the cute wood frames have a jute cord to hang them by. The 2 big clips were $4.99 each. The rest was stationary, notepads, glow sticks, napkins and a cute card with a necklace.
Please Note – Grab bags and boxes are often regional and not always available at all stores. You may want to call ahead before making a special trip to make sure your Michaels has them.
Let us know if you’re able to find these too!
(Thanks, Jamie and Jo Ann!)
I got 2 here in Pittsburgh (Homestead) well worth the 4 dollars but lots of Lion Guard stuff
Thanks for sharing!
My store had them last week. I bought two bags because I could see that they were the succulent and grass “mats” and another had two boxes of orange moss and a box of orange Spanish moss. When I got them home and opened the bags, I realized two of the boxes of moss were open and half empty and the succulent mat was missing several succulents right in the middle of the arrangement. I wasn’t really thrilled that they were non returnable, especially since my store’s bags are awfully skimpy for $4. Most bags had two items.
Bummer! Sorry to hear that. Thanks for sharing your experience!
My store grab bags sucked! They had three items in each and they weren’t great. Im not sure it’s worth $4! I wish they had the box!
Darn! Thanks for the honest feedback!
I used to always rush to my local stores to buy these for charity. There was always a lot of craft items they could use for projects and gift items for prizes. They used to be $2.00.The last few months there was much less in the bags and boxes and much was damaged. I felt it was a waste of money and passed them up.
Mine were enormous boxes not bags I got about 15 iron ons between the two boxes I bought.
Wow! Thanks for sharing your score!
Mine were the biggest pile of rubbish ever!!!
Darn!
Didn’t see any in Flagstaff. Stickers were buy 2 get third free & had A GREAT selection of $1 coloring books! Found a few small stamps & jewel embellishments too!
They’re leftover clearance items after they’ve not sold at 70-80% off for weeks. Sometimes they’re good, sometimes they’re not. But whatever it is, you’re getting close to a 90% discount on it. It’s the store and company’s last chance at making money from an item instead of throwing it away. And you’re getting it way below cost. It’s a chance you take!
I appreciate hearing about the experiences of other readers, positive and negative. Damaged items, even “way below cost,” are a waste of money to me, not “a chance you take,” especially since Michael’s prices are inflated in order to allow for their perpetual sales and coupons.
I got a princess chest, which was filled with ribbon dancers, bubbles, ball, balloons, stickers, and several pairs of flip flops.
It seems some of the customers don’t just “grab” a bag. They rifle through it, take out what they don’t want, take stuff from other bags and leave behind carnage. Damaged items should not be bagged but I think when customers go through the bags items get damaged.
I live in South Africa
Is not fair I wanna buy 1 of these boxes!
Bring Michael’s to Africa =)
How do you guys know when there are going to be $4 grab bags? How often do they do them?
Wondering the same. I never make it there in time
Grab boxes are 98% of seasonal items that we need to clear out for the next wave of stuff. Sorry to hear that some michaels grab bags are skimpy, the boxes at my store are not, nor are items damaged
Every seasonal clearance goes grab bag/box.
Gotta make way for the next wave if seasonal merch
Well finally arrived here in NJ!! I picked up a couple of boxes, there was great jewelry items, some scrapbooking things. Awesome.

Found some and got tons of flowers 2 large $80 heart shaped wreaths. I bought 4 bags and I would say it was well worth it! A friend and I split it!
Yesterday, I called about half hour before they closed to confirm they had grab boxes and the employee told me they did so I got there like 10 minutes before closing and they told me 1 person just bought ALL 20 BOXES! Ugh how annoying. They should limit them! And Just now I went to the Michaels near my work, only to see a couple women LOADING their SUV with a ton of grab boxes. I went inside and they told me the ladies just bought ALL the boxes they had ….they said someone posted it online and now they people are buying them all. So annoying =(
I have been waiting for a couple months for the Christmas grab boxes at our Michael’s and got here 20 minutes after they opened today because I was told they would be putting them out today and one lady had bought every single one. Her car was stuffed full and she was waiting for a backup car to load the rest. I was so mad and completely disappointed. They really should have a limit because of greedy people. Not to mention I drove an hour each way just for that. 😢
