Thanks! Needed a new one!
You are welcome, Lindsey!
I have two of these booster seats and absolutely LOVE them! They are extremely light weight and are the perfect size! We use these anytime we need to move a seat quickly because they are so easy to move! I seriously cannot express how much I LOVE these seats! 🙂
Wow! So glad to hear how well they work for you. Thanks for sharing, Annie!
Can this be used for a 3 year old ?
No. They need to be in a 5 point harness still.
A 3 year old should still be in a 5 point harness. I’m just now switching my 7 year old to a booster seat
The specifications are based on the child’s height and weight. I had to move my 3 year old to a booster because she is in the 90th percentile for height and she meets the weight requirements.
No. Booster seats are for kids 5+ even if they are in the weight limits. I figure if race car drivers are in 5pt seats, my kids will be as long as possible
We have 3 different high back boosters due to different cars and this one is my daughters favorite car seat.
Happy to hear how much she likes this one Chrissy! Thanks for sharing!
I wanted to jump on this deal, but saw that it doesn’t support latch. How do parents keep these boosters from being jostled in the car? Do you use the regular seat beat even though the child isn’t sitting in the seat? I prefer latch for the added peace of mind, but this seems like a popular booster.
Yes you use the seatbelt. It goes through the side and then over the child.
I understand that part. My question was how do you keep the seat secure when the child is not in the car? Since it doesn’t have latch..
Mine doesn’t move. The seatbelt keeps it still when child isn’t in it.
The weight of the child & the seat belt keep the seat in place while in use
The seatbelt keeps it from moving when the child isn’t in it. I have a similar one and it doesn’t move.
Thanks, Lindsay. So you always buckle in the empty car seat to keep it from moving?
No I do not buckle it. The seatbelts stays through the hole of the car seat and that is what keeps it secure when the child isn’t in it.
I’m the same way as you with the latch, it just makes me feel better (even though they are only used to keep the seat in place when there’s no child in it. However with all my seats, I use a latch from an old seat and add it on. Just a tip 😊. This is a very good seat (although I don’t own one). All my research when I bought my last one was between this one and the Graco highback.
By the time a child is booster ready (in stead of a 5 point harness) – around 5 years old at least – they will be too heavy for the LATCH. The point of a booster is to raise a child to the correct height so the seatbelt sits safely across their chest and shoulder (instead of their neck)
Naomi, thanks for your comments. I think you are misunderstanding my question. I am wondering how to keep the EMPTY car seat from becoming a projectile when the car is in motion. My oldest is not always with me (school), but the 3yo is. With a latch system at least the car will stay put if I had to make a sharp turn or slam on my brakes for whatever reason (hence my comment about added peace of mind). This particular booster does not support latch, so my concern was how does it stay secure when my oldest child isn’t sitting in it. I’m not trying to become educated on using latch vs correct height and weight. I am simply asking how the EMPTY car seat stays put when the car is moving.
I have two of these. I don’t buckle then when my kid isn’t in it. It doesn’t move. I even have one in my own top jeep. It doesn’t move either.
**Open top
The shoulder strap goes through the top near the headrest. This feature has always kept ours from shifting and moving when not in use. Hope this helps answer your question.
Charlotte’s mom, I know what you are asking. Here are my thoughts…look into a rigid latch booster, we use the Clek Ollie/Ozzi and love it. Also the Diono backless has a ridget latch. It can be used with kids over a typical latch weight limit because it is for the seat to not become a projectile, while the belt is for the child.
I think what other commenters are saying is that unless in a collision these seats, without a latch don’t move. So maybe you take your chances of not having an accident?
Like I said, we love the Clek!
I have his exact one and the blue color. It just sits on the seat. When my kid isn’t in the minivan, this doesn’t move and it’s not held on with anything. I will say that my van has cloth seats….. so I don’t know if leather seats would make a difference. But I don’t think it would be a problem. This thing has never slid off the seat when my kid isn’t in the car.
Perfect timing! I was planning to switch my granddaughter to a booster from her bulky carseat since she’s old enough and big enough now. My Nana-mobile gets pretty crowded with carseats! Thanks, Bryn.
If you use promo code “FIVEOFFBABY” it will take $5 off your total as well! All you have to do is register a child in your profile. There was a banner at the top of my screen with the promotion details. I got this for $20.38! Thanks Hip2Save!
I have my kid in the child profile but somehow the code still doesn’t apply. I am yet to find an item for it to be used. Anyway, will clicking on that banner ad about the promo make a difference vs just typing the code? Thanks!
I chatted with Amazon about the promo code not applying to booster seat and they refunded $5 back to my card. I was able to sign up for the free music trial and get one for $10
Thanks! I went ahead and called them to see about the code and they adjusted it and apparently my Prime Pantry $5 credit was applied to the order too! Pretty sweet deal. Thanks H2S for the heads up!
Yeah, I clicked on the banner and a little box popped up that had me add my child. Then I just put the promo code in at checkout!
On Amazon or Walmart?
That promo code is for Amazon 🙂 https://hip2save.com/2017/09/29/amazon-family-wow-5-off-first-5-baby-store-purchase/
Thanks for sharing Candice!
Anytime! It made the deal EVEN better than it already was! Thanks for all you do! Sorry, I should’ve mentioned the banner was on Amazon.com in my initial post haha.
You are most welcome Candice!
Both sites have it back up to $30 🙁
Darn! Thanks for letting us know! I am finding the price up now as well 🙁
Looks like I missed out on this one
Is this deal dead for Walmart and Amazon has price as $31?
