Eating Low Carb or Keto and LOVE chocolate? 🍫

Keto Fat Bombs are a popular small snack/treat and way to curb sugar cravings while eating a low carb lifestyle. They are high in “good for you” fats like coconut oil, which is part of this high fat, low carb way of eating.

There are so many different recipes for fat bombs floating around the internet, so today I’m sharing this yummy nut butter and chocolate combo that taste similar to Reese’s peanut butter cups candy, but just not quite as sweet. They are so easy to make and only contain four ingredients!

This recipe made 16 small bite-sized treats for me. For nutritional info, click through to original recipe post. It should be around 2 carbs or less per bite depending on size of your molds and brands of ingredients used.

These are so GOOD!

They don’t taste super bitter like other Keto treats I’ve tested. I love the idea of keeping small bites of chocolate around for those moments when you just need a small treat!

If chocolate isn’t your thing, my Keto eating sidekick, Michelle, says she LOVES these Strawberry Cheesecake Fat Bombs, and sometimes uses raspberries instead. They look tasty as well! 😋

Yes, please! Yum, thanks so much! Perfect timing for this recipe, I was craving and feeling ravenous 😂

  2. Laura

I make these ALL the time and I’m obsessed! I just pour it onto a baking sheet with parchment paper on it and freeze it and then break up the pieces. Super super easy and a delicious treat that my kids and I both love!

    • Jeanette R

Nice idea! Thank you!! Do you use stevia or something else?

      • Laura

I use honey, but I’ve used a stevia/erythritol blend before as well and it turned out great.

        • Beth

          Hi Laura,
How much honey do you use? Thanks!

          • Laura

I do equal portions of nut butter, coconut oil and cacao powder (1/2 cup) and half the amount of honey (1/4 cup). Sometimes I add nuts for the texture. It’s delicious and super easy!

          • Jacques

Honey will kick you out of Ketosis . If you are following Keto recipes

    • Nikki

How do you store the pieces, Laura? Thanks for sharing your variation on this recipe.

  3. Bianca

Yum! I’m going to try both recipes really soon!

  4. Allison

  6. Katie

Thank you so much for posting all of these Keto recipes! Sometimes it’s hard to find things that fit into this way of eating. This helps a lot. Keep them coming!

    • Lina D

      You’re so welcome!

  7. Tiffeny

What can I use in place of coconut oil I wonder for a less fat version?

    • vmm

you can just skip the coconut oil and it will turn out more like a peanut butter ball and a bit of a drier texture like a reeces has. I’d recommend powdered swerve as your sweetener. just mix it with your nut butter, pat into a pan or muffin cup or roll into a ball and set it cup/pan, then top with melted chocolate(you’ll need a bit of butter or coconut oil to melt the cocoa powder in so that it hardens around the filling though).

      • Lina D

        Thanks for the tips!

  8. Scarlet Bluefield

Thanks, Lina. I’ve tried a similar recipe, but didn’t like it. There was just nothing right about it (which was crazy, considering all the good things that went into it). You’ve encouraged me to try again. Did you use granulated stevia (I think part of my failure before was the grittiness from the stevia I used)?

    • Lina D

Yes I did. You can also try liquid stevia drops instead of powder. It’s definitely more of a dark chocolate taste for sure.

      • Scarlet B

Hopefully heating it up will make the grittiness go away. Thanks again for the recipe! Now I have to make almond butter…

  9. Leslie R

I have seen lots of keto recipes on here. Can anyone tell me the difference between Keto and Atkins or are they essentially the same? I’m trying to shed some pounds. I usually do just calorie counting but this sounds interesting. Thanks.

    • Centerofattn315

Keto is high fat, moderate protein, low carb. Atkins induction phase is very similar but Atkins then can become more protein and more carbs then keto.
Keto is not a diet however it is a lifestyle change. It is a very healthy way of eating and if you are considering it I encourage you to do some reading and research to truly understand this way of eating because doing it incorrectly can be detrimental to your health.

      • Leslie R

Thanks for the info. I’ll be sure to research!!

        • Centerofattn315

No problem. I love sharing keto. It has been great for hubby and I for different reasons. 🙂

  10. Workaholic

Any recipes for low calorie, keto diets?

    • Centerofattn315

Keto is not a low calorie way of eating. Keto focuses on macronutrients and not calories. When in ketosis one should be eating to hunger and for many this means they will begin to naturally consume fewer calories, but may also have days of significantly higher calories based on listening to ones body.

    • Amy

Hi! I’ve followed keto for the last six months and find that you generally consume the same foods throughout, just less. I still follow my macros but now usually only keep tabs on the net carbs since keto foods keep me feeling full most of the time. Instead of three square meals a day, it might naturally become one big meal with a fat bomb or bulletproof coffee to satisfy your hunger, translating into fewer calories consumed. Good luck and hope that helps!

Thanks for the recipe, Lina! I passed on all of the candy sales so that the (expensive, last minute) chocolate would only have to spend tonight in the house! These’ll help!

  11. Allison 💙

I’m all about the Martha Stewart, full-on-bad-for-you recipe 😂😂

    • Laura

can you write the recipe here? thanks

  15. Karensv

You can also use maple syrup instead of stevia

    • Lina D

    Thanx a bunch!

    • Lina D

      You’re welcome!

  18. Sara

Didn’t Colin put a post explaining the keto way of eating a while back? Maybe we need to bump it up. There seem to be a lot of questions about it now. It’s definitely the best lifestyle decision I ever made.

    • Lina D

      Great idea thanks!

  19. Happymama

Thank you! I haven’t had sugar/sweets/chocolate in 4 weeks. I made these today and they are FABULOUS! Now when the kids are eating their Halloween candy, I can eat this! I hope to see more Keto dessert recipes in the future!

    • LL

Love the THM way of eating.

  22. Sherri

Do you need to melt the coconut oil first? Or measure as a solid? Thanks!

  23. Amanda Forsberg

Do you have a nutritional info for fat bombs?
    Thank you,
    Amanda
