very cool!
Buy it! Great gift for kids 5-12. STEAM based & highly interactive, lots of critical thinking & fun!
Does it need internet access? I have a special needs sister who LOVES electronics, but we don’t want her to be able to get online and get herself into trouble. She enjoys her kids Kindle Fire, but wants more options.
No internet needed after downloading the apps (which are free). I work with special needs kids in the schools (preK to 5th) and most of my kids loooove it. And me, I really like it too.
Was just coming to say the same thing😊 only works on iOS so if you have an iPad any generation you’re good!
Looks like a lot of fun. I love educational games.
My Daughter’s school has these as a center and the kiddos love it! Got one for holiday gift.
How neat! Thanks for sharing!
I use this as a center in my classroom and the kids love it!
Super glad to hear they enjoy it! Thanks for the feedback Daphne!
Love Osmo! I use this at my iPad center in the classroom and interchange between phonics and math. Students love it, and so does my second grader when he visits my classroom. Going to get him one. It’s fun and highly educational!
Only uses IOS operating system. Cannot be used with an Android.
This is the older version. Does anyone know the difference between this one and the new one?
The differences between the older and newer Genius Kits are mainly cosmetic as the games included within are the same. The Box has been redesigned and based on customer feedback, the game pieces now come in plastic storage containers and the Words tiles now have upper and lower case letters.
Looks like the only difference between old and new is the stacking boxes (new version set comes with them instead of an additional purchase of $15).
I’ve been wanting to get this for a while! Thank you!
You’re welcome, Lynsi!
Does this work with an iPad mini?
Yes!
Oh no! The price went up to $99 this morning, I thought it would be $69.99 through today–I must have read that wrong! Do you think the price will go lower for Black Friday? Thanks so much!
Darn! Hopefully the price drops back down again soon! YW!
Ditto. Too bad. It looks like the price went back up. This looked like a great gift for my STEM loving 9 year old.
