Can anyone give me feedback on cast iron? Is it worth paying more for some of the name brands? Is it all about the same and this will work? I’m new to cast iron, i have my one small skillet I’ve had for years. I’m wanting a few pieces to use on my big green egg smoker/grill.

Cast-iron will last a lifetime if you take care of it right just Google how to take care of cast-iron pans

I have one skillet and love it. But, I wouldn’t want a big heavy set. I have really nice porcelain skillets and I keep them separated so they don’t get scratched. I’d like one really big cast iron deep dish skillet, though… Mine is only 10“. The one I have was on clearance at Walmart for under $10 Pioneer Woman and it’s great.

Ordered for my step mom for Christmas, I went through jet.com (2.5% cash back via ebate) vs walmart and it’s a little more due to taxes but I know she’s going to freak come Christmas. Such a good deal.

I have used cast my whole life, am in my 60’s. Tho this says PRE seasoned you still must treat it and will take time before it settles in.
keeping them well greased avoid letting them sit with water in them, keep out of dishwasher,, wash.dry and season right away… can put on burner (med low heat) just to heat the cast up a bit after u season will help it to absorb the seasoning.
