I bought a Klymit sleeping pad for my college-aged son. He does quite a bit of backpacking and camping. He thinks the sleeping pad is great. It helps for a more comfortable night ‘s sleep and helps with warmth since you are not sleeping directly on the ground. In addition, it is compact and light weight for the long backpacking trips.

I have this pad, & love it. We put it on our cot. I have also used it camping in cabins. On long road trips we blew it up bc the kids like to get on the car floor, & stretch out on it when we make stops.
