Do these seal shut to prevent spills? It is not clear by the description. Need something that won’t spill if knocked over. TIA
They don’t unfortunately. You might be able to buy a different lid that would fit but the standard product has an opening to drink out of.
You can buy lids that have piece that slides over the opening. The lids are around $3.50. The original lid and the additional lid that you can buy don’t screw on so there’s a chance that the whole lid will come off if you drop it. I love these cups but there’s a chance for spills (has happened many times with my kids). Also if you drop the colored ones, the paint can crack and it is sharp and will continue to peel off the cup. The large version of this mug is pretty heavy when full, I prefer the smaller ones. Awesome cups though.
My mom loved her Starbucks thermal cup because it sealed up really well and it kept things cold/hot for a long time.

I have a bubba mug with a snap lid….no spills. It’s my go to mug for shopping in stores because it has tipped and nothing comes outs.
Contigo has cups/mugs where you hope in a button in order to get a drink. Mine has been fairly spill proof.
They don’t prevent spills. But, it keeps your drinks cold! Love mine
I bought this 40 oz for my Grandpas gift. Went to the store today to buy a handle and straws for it… the handle doesn’t fit the 40 oz, only the 30. Totally bummed! BUT, then I found a 2-pack of the Ozark Trail stainless steel 30 oz tumblers on clearance for $12! So I bought those. And a handle. And a pack of straws. Sweet! Grandpa will be happy!
