What’s a good age for the Nintendo 2DS?? My daughter is 5..
Age 5 is perfect. Go to GameStop for used games for younger kids. Also all the Mario games are good. The library usually has games to check out also!
Honestly we got the 2ds last year for my 5 year old and he had a harder time with it as the controls and screen are much smaller than the ds. His 11 yr old brother ended up taking it because it could play 3DS games and he stuck with the ds XL. This year we got him a tablet to play games instead. He prefers to watch his older brother play on the WiiU or play on our iPad anyways so the tablet was perfect. That being said, this is an awesome price to save it. My now 12 year old got a new one this year since his broke in his backpack and I had to spend $79.99 at target on Black Friday.
I got my son the Mario 2DS for Christmas and he is 3. He plays it better than I do and LOVES it!

Whats different from the 2ds xl and 3ds xl? My daughter loves pokemon and wants one but i have no idea which one to get for her TIA
The 3DS has the ability to play in 3D. Our two older kids have 3DS XL’s and usually play their games in 2D. Our 7 yr. old has a 2DS and doesn’t ever complain about not being able to play in 3D. You can also play 3DS games on the 2DS.
For me, it’s not just about the ability to play 2d vs 3d. The 2d one only lays flat, you cannot close it, you cannot protect the screens when not in play and it feels more cumbersome to hold. the 3ds folds, is larger, holds easier, can be put in a position where you want it fold wise. we are a gameboy family from day one and have had dozens. the 2d we are not fans of
