A word of warning for those with glass-top stoves: pay attention to the bottom of the kettle, if it is concave (which it looks like this one may be because of the metal lip going around the bottom), the kettle may be unusable on a glass top, since the bottom won’t touch the stove surface.

I ruined my glass top when the water steamed out of my tea kettle too fast! Apparently, I should have filled it up more than I did. I pulled it off my stove and a chunk of glass came with it! Now I use my microwave. Lesson learned.
