As a mom on her third pregnancy, allow me to offer my opinion on these boxes.
First trimester – not worth $20. The candies didn’t work for me (although they were pretty good) and you can get them for $4-5 on amazon. The book sounds lame, the vitamins are probably fine but you should choose ones that you really want (like maybe some gummies, ha ha!). The lotion is also probably fine but who needs another random bottle of lotion.
Second trimester – not worth $20, UNLESS you really want that belly salve, which is sold on amazon for $17 (so you’re basically getting the other three items for $3). I like the pregnancy tea but I don’t know how effective it is. You can research baby names online for free, and again with the lotion that no one needs more of.
Third trimester – probably the most worth it. I love earth mama angel baby products*. But I will say, you would probably do better with a tube of lanolin (instead of the nipple salve) and a can of Dermoplast (instead of the bottom spray). The bath bombs look fun. I never needed nursing pads but for some moms they are lifesavers.
For me, all three are passes. I would rather spend the $20 on… stuff I really, specifically want, like a toiletry I already know I enjoy, and a book by an author I already know I trust. Just my two cents! :}
*My fave product by them is the stretch oil for applying to your growing belly. It smells so nice (light orange scent) and I never itched a day.
Thank you for your opinion!! I almost got this for my sister but passed. I’ll get here something specific that she wants / needs. 🙂
Thanks for the feedback. Was just debating about this!
I’m pregnant with my 3rd as well & couldn’t agree more with everything you said. However 1st time mom me would be all over this lol.
Had my baby 4 months ago and couldn’t agree more. I received nipple butter and box (6 pack) of Mother’s Milk tea as well as day/night combo baby bliss gripe water from a friend – OMG I am now forever in debt to her! All those items I needed badly! And I kept buying exact same things she got me, like seriously everything was perfect. If you want to get this as a gift than 3rd trimester is better than the first two
Agreed. Was excited when I read the post title but after seeing what the items are, I will definetly be passing.
I completely agree with Kait. I’m also pregnant with my third and I wouldn’t waste my money on these boxes. I do like the Preggie Pop Drops during the first trimester, but it’s cheaper to just buy them. I’m always afraid to take a bath while pregnant because water that’s too hot can hurt baby, so I would have to wait till after pregnancy to use the bath bombs.
If you are pregnant, be sure to start an Amazon registry and buy $10 worth of stuff to get the Welcome Box. That was definitely worth it in my opinion.
I love this idea but the price for what you receive would be a deal breaker for me.
I bought those bath bombs separately & they smell disgusting!!! I could smell them before I got Amazon box open. Sent them back!
Thanks for the honest feedback, Rebecca!
I wouldn’t want anything with a book by Jenny McCarthy. She was one of the loudest and most persistent people to scream about vaccines “causing autism” and then tried telling everyone that she “cured” her son by changing his diet. She’s a wacko.
