   Anyone know if this is enough power to operate a few different software programs? Or is this a low operating model??

  This is the low end model for desktops BUT the low end model for Apple desktops is usually much better performance-wise than a laptop of a model in the same year. I order these for work at a university. For word processing and internet 8GB of memory is fine but because our users get a replacement every four years, I don’t order any computers with less than 16GB of memory (which determines performance of the machine when multiple applications are opened simultaneously). 1TB of storage is more than enough. I consider this for high end storage, with so much of the cloud storage available nowadays. Anything above 2.3 processor speed is more than enough for a home computer. This usually only matters when working on high graphics and 3D work like the graphic arts and architecture users who need it for rendering. So, for basic home use this model would last 4-5 yeas easily. Hope this helps.

   Thanks for the heads up on this! Our Mac laptop is almost 10 years old and on the fritz, but the bullet so kids can have an up-to-date desktop for school work. Thank you for all you and your team do to save our family money!

   Ot, but yesterday I was thinking about how fast technology advances when my 4 years old was on ABCMouse. It dawned on me that she has never used a real mouse because we haven’t used a desktop in a few years. I wonder if she would even get the connection with the ABCMouse mouse logo?
