The queso is horrid. Too grainy, bland flavor… I am a queso-a-holic and could wait to try it. Tried it a couple of times (you know, just to make sure) and it was terrible each time.

Agree. The queso is grainy and bland. I don’t love their guac either. But I’m a big fan of the entrees.
I LOVED chipotle in Nevada and it tasted the same in CA. When I moved to TX I’ve tried it 3 times and every time it is wayyy to spicy. They do not make the carnitas the same way. I’ve had it hundreds of times before and I don’t know what they do here but I don’t even go there anymore it is so bad 🙁 I loved chipotle
Try the chicken instead. That’s what I get my kids.

I love their guacamole…it’s not better than fresh, homemade guac but it’s really good for a fast food place. And Torchy’s has the best queso ever lol
Oh and i thought it was just me. I love the guacamole but yes that Queso was really weird. I thought it was burnt.

Okay, I actually LOVE their queso. It is made of real cheese though, so if you are a velveeta fan, it might not be for you!
It’s made of cheese + cornstarch and tapioca starch (listed on their site). Velveeta obviously isn’t real cheese, but it does melt very well and is smooth/creamy, all of which is ideal for queso. Chipotle uses aged cheddar which is like Parm in that it doesn’t melt without becoming grainy (as several ppl here mentioned). Some just prefer a creamier queso, that’s all!

I thought it was worth commenting that Chipotle changed their queso recipe in December, and it’s apparently somewhat better now. I haven’t tried the new version yet, but I agree that the previous version left something to be desired. I wonder if all the people commenting tried the old version or the new version?

I like the queso. It might be good to note that if you try to avoid Soy, a lot of cheese sauces have soy in it. At Chipotle there is NO SOY in the queso and that’s a good thing to me!
Can I use the free quac offer at the counter in the store when I pay or is it only if you order online using the app.?
