Nice deal, but too bad filing state is extra.
My kids just did theirs with tax act and paid nothing for sate and federal.
I was referring to the other packages, not the free federal/state deal.
I been using taxact for many years and love it. This year prices went up and I paid almost $90 but I am used to the system and know how to move back and forth, so that’s why I stayed with them. Free is only for basic return with no business or no house, just simple w2.
I was able to go through http://www.myfreetaxes.com and file BOTH my son’s Federal and State for free. This is a service provided by United Way and a partnership they have with H&R Block. (I became aware of this from a comment to a previous post here on Hip2Save!)
