Kidde Dual Sensor Smoke Alarms Recalled For Failure To Work During Fire
Kidde has issued a recall for two of their Dual Sensor Smoke Alarms as a cap was left on during the manufacturing process and it covers one of the smoke sensors making it so the alarm can’t detect smoke or a fire. See more about this recall here.
The recall involves model numbers PI2010 and PI9010 that were sold at Menards, The Home Depot, Walmart and other department, home and hardware stores as well as online at Amazon from September 2016 to January 2018.
If you own one of these smoke alarms, remove it from the wall or ceiling and visually inspect it through the opening on the side of the alarm to see if there is a yellow cap. Do not attempt to take apart the alarm, open the casing, or otherwise remove the yellow cap themselves. If a yellow cap is present, contact Kidde to receive a replacement alarm. Contact Kidde here or by calling 833-551-7739.
Thank you for posting this important information. All should pass it along!
You are welcome!
Yes thank you very much!
Thank you for letting us know.
Also, is anyone having trouble viewing the bottom of each post? They are all cut off 😂
Oh no! Are you on the app via an android or iPhone?
I have an iPhone and noticed this on one post today. But it just seemed to be on one post.
Thank you for letting me know. We are looking into this!
Thank you
thanks for letting us know-
You are welcome, Mell!
Thank you so much!
Another recall from Kidde. For a company that’s purpose is producing life saving devices, their quality control is terrible. 38 million fire extinguishers last recall in Nov, now smoke alarms. Not acceptable. I’ll be staying away from this brand.
It’s now all imported from overseas. Would be nice if they would bring back American-made quality products!
