Wrote a check to my daughter’s swim teacher just this morning. Businesses pay a fee per transaction in order to take plastic; when you’re a small business (especially just one individual, like the swim instructor) it’s not worth the cut into your already small profit margin.

I think we will see a little more checks/cash in the future. Businesses pay huge fees to accept credit cards. A lot of businesses are going to start passing those fees on to the customers. I would rather pay with cash/check than have to pay a fee to use my credit card.

I do for daycare, the guy that cuts our grass, we pay our water bill and sewage bill with checks. Not everyone takes credit and not everyone keeps cash on them.

My bank doesn’t. A box is $22 plus shipping so I haven’t bought checks from them in years
My kids lunch money is paid for by check because the online account charges a fee every time you add money to their lunch account. The fee is almost what it would cost for one lunch.
Same in our town. You would think they’d offer a discount for you paying ahead so they don’t have to handle cash. 😏

Yes, same here with the lunch accounts. We write checks for that, our preschool & then other occasional things like sports, home repairs, etc. I never though of seeing if my bank offered them for free though. I’m going to look into that.
Well I called my credit union & found out they give a free box of checks each year if you’re over 65. Guess I’ll have to keep buying them for awhile. 🙂
