Don’t let your BabiesRUs gift cards go to waste!
Have a BabiesRUs or ToysRUs gift card and won’t be able to redeem it before they close their doors? As we posted earlier, the online stores for ToysRus and BabiesRUs are no longer active, so if you have gift cards from either store, you’ll need to shop locally to spend them, although some locations have even stopped accepting gift cards in-store as well.
OR – through April 2nd, buybuy BABY is allowing you to exchange your BabiesRUs and ToysRUs gift cards for buybuy BABY gift cards. Note that due to business closures, the amount that you’ll receive in exchange is around 36% less than the full value (i.e. – if you have a $50 gift card, you’ll get $32.10).

I love how the people who “pre-invested” their money with TRU (or any other retailer going bankrupt), are the first to lose out on that money. I suppose any GC is a potential gamble, but what a kick in the teeth
When you continue to hold onto gift cards, even after the company files bankruptcy, this is the result. I can not find sympathy for gift card holders (TRU/BRU).
I saw this coming for awhile and had some raise gift cards I purposefully used up about 2 months ago.
Excuse me, but I bought mine for someones baby shower and it was canceled and no one notified me..so I am stuck with a GC but no one to give it to…..so think before you offer “no sympathy”, now I have to get a reduced amount at bed bath and beyond for the $50 i spent—
Yeah, sorry I held onto them so long. I gave birth to twins then spent the better part of 2 months in the hospital while one was sick while all this was happening. Sh*t happens, especially when you have kids. Stores are still open, still selling merchandise, they should be honoring the cards they ALREADY received cash for.
How about sympathy for someone who received a gift card as a baby gift AFTER THE STORE CLOSED?
The website states that they will be honoring gift cards through and including April 21st.
I was told they are taking them through 4/21 though it is possible it will depend on the store and how long they are staying open at an Rus store and not being sold be a liquidator at the store

It’s sad to see the company go under, but honestly, I didn’t shop there much. Prices were always better elsewhere.
