    • Amber (Hip2Save Sidekick)

Me too! I head in to my store at least once a week! LOL! 😉

  3. Myrah

Picked up my seeds and all my planting materials last month from Dollar Tree. Now I just have to wait for the snow to go away.

  4. Jen

Bought seeds last week from Dollar Tree…I was a little skeptical but I planted them on Friday and they have already sprouted!!!!!

    • Amber (Hip2Save Sidekick)

Woohoo! That’s awesome Jen! I have had great success with their seeds and bulbs as well!

  5. Kristen

I used these in the Easter egg hunt. The kids were excited even when they got April Fools radishes, turnips and Swiss Chard.

  6. LC

These are some really great deals! I can’t wait to get to gardening. Seed packets at Meijer at 5x as much!

  7. NN

What have your experiences with the Dollar Tree seeds been?

    • JA

I have been getting them for years and always been satisfied. We have had great luck with sunflowers, beans, peas and zinnias. I bought a box of wildflower mix last year and I think it did well for how wet the weather was. I advise to start indoors, then transplant.

    • Lana

They are always great. I have been buying them for years.

      • Felicia

Well I bought some seeds packets of flowers an guess what I got instead? Radishes popped up instead! I was upset bcuz I thought I was getting my cosmos or my zinnia’s planted in garden. Nope I think they mixed some seeds or thought it would be funny? I sure didn’t think funny was to be of it at all..

    • Kimberly

My seeds have grown big enough to plant as soon as May gets here!!

    • Kati

We bought the beans for a school project. Nothing ever happened. We had to make a last minute project instead. Never again!

    • NN

      Thank you all!

Off topic. Did anyone receive the rebate of BIC® Razors posted a while ago? I did not get mine and the toll free number on the form is not correct. Need some advance. Thanks!

    • annie

well you got me thinking about my rebate, as I haven’t received it also.
the rebate does state it take 8-10 weeks. I sent mine in feb.
I did just call the tel. no on form and got a nice lady, who transferred me to the lady in charge of Bic rebates, she was out to lunch as of now. so I left a message. the number on my rebate form does work. here it is:
      1800-872-8893
      hope this helps you.

      • Amada

I sent mine in Feb too. I will call them. Thank you Annie!

    • annie

      you’re welcome Amanda.
I just got a call from the fulfillment center. good news, rebate checks that were sent in for feb, are being mailed out today.
if you mailed your form in late feb or early march, checks will come at a later date.

Lots of their seeds are GMO free too- we had great luck with them last year

I love the solar lights from the Dollar Tree! But have never used the seeds. Has anyone had good experience with them?

    • Amber (Hip2Save Sidekick)

Hi there! I have used both their seeds and bulbs and they have sprouted up very well for me each year. Just be sure to plant as the directions list on each pack as some need more sun than others. Hope that helps! 😉

    • annie

I have not had any luck with dollar tree solar light.s
very dim lit. and after about 2 weeks, no light come from them. I say, save your money and buy the good ones at target, or Home Depot etc.
for as low as $8.00 you can get decent solar lights.

I see from the picture they have Heavenly Blue Morning Glory seed – I highly recommend (!) Hart to find that sky-blue color in other flowers. Full sun, needs something to climb on; Water daily.

    • Amber (Hip2Save Sidekick)

How neat! Thanks for the helpful tip!

    • Molly

Oh my!! Be careful where you plant your morning glories!! They are extremely hardy and always, always, ALWAYS come back more plentiful the next year!! I am fighting a losing battle with mine but they sure are pretty!

  12. Kaleena

The seeds are awesome but skip the soil they have a lot of rocks in them. Even it being a dollar it’s not worth it in my opinion.

    • Amber (Hip2Save Sidekick)

Thanks for sharing your honest thoughts on the soil Kaleena! We sure appreciate the feedback!

I threw a bridal shower tea last year. My favors came directly from the gardening section at Dollar Tree! I bought little pots, put 3 packets of seeds in each pot and dressed them up with ribbon and tissue paper. I also made some floral centerpieces using the larger pots and artificial flowers. ALL FROM DOLLAR TREE!!!

    • Amber (Hip2Save Sidekick)

Oh I LOVE that Hilary! I will be throwing a bridal shower for my sister this summer and I may do something like that too! Thanks so much for the idea! 😉

  14. Cleob

Just bought a few sacks of gladiolus bulbs (large flowering mix). Good sized healthy bulbs, so I am sure they will grow well. Forgot to dig mine out last fall, so I now have a nice replacement.

    • Amber (Hip2Save Sidekick)

Yes! Those are beautiful! I have them planted as well and they pop up each year! 😉

Any reviews on the hummingbird feeder? I’ve never had one, but I’m thinking my toddler twins would love it!

    • tracy

No need to buy hummingbird food. It’s 4 parts water to 1 part regular sugar with no food coloring. I boil the water and dissolve the sugar in it, then cool and put in the feeder. Hummingbirds will return year after year if you keep the feeder filled.

  16. Cleob

Unfortunately in northern Illinois, summer bulbs do not winter well in frozen soil, so I have to dig them out each fall and replant in spring, but they make such colorful flowers that it’s worth doing each year. In fact, I am going to buy more for upcoming birthday gifts for gardening family members. It will be a nice surprise to add to their gift bag.
