Never used Persil? Check out what other Hip2Savers have to say about this detergent…
I absolutely love this detergent and the smell is by far the best in all laundry detergents.
Persil is the European version of Tide. My mom used it when we were growing up.
I used Persil for the first time last weekend because I found a bottle on clearance at Target. It is fantastic, smells better than Tide and removed a bunch of stains from towels that have been around for a few washes. I will definitely look for it now.
I love it…The smell is heaven! And it really cleans my husband’s work clothes!
I love Persil! After claiming a sample online a while back I can’t use anything else. I have tried going back to the less expensive brands but the cleanliness and brightness of the clothes is just not the same as with Persil.
Persil is relatively new in the U.S. but having lived 20+ years in Europe, I grew up with this product! I swear by Persil and am glad that they finally made it available here in the U.S. The smell is nice and lasts long, clothing gets clean, cleaner than tide, in my honest opinion.
Thanks, I am definitely going to try it
You’re most welcome, Alysia!
I’ve heard good things about this product
Looooove Persil! The original blue scented is lovely but can be a bit strong. The free & clear/gentle cleans very well and was great for everyone’s clothes when my Littles were babies 🙂
I found a ton of bottles of Persil on clearance at Target last night. Going back today 🙂
Ooh! What a great find! Thanks for sharing with us! We will have to check for that in our stores too! 😉
I think it was the fragrance free ones that’s on clearance.
Savingstar just added a $2/1 Persil rebate.
Thanks Jan! Looks like that offer will not combine with any other coupon. Darn!
The smell is very strong. Make sure you’re good with smells because it lasts.
I agree Donna! The scent does last a while! Thanks for the feedback!
It’s awesome and the smell is perfect! Thank you again
You’re welcome! I like how this detergent smells too! SUPER fresh! 🙂
Cvs has them for 4.94 right now too
Oh cool! Thanks Tina!
I thought I loved this. It does clean well, but by the time I finished the bottle no one in my family could stand it. The scent lingers and is overpowering. I love me some good smelling clothes, but this was too much. I would suggest the unscented one.
Agreed. I bought 2 before when it was on sale. I used it maybe twice, and ended up giving it to my in-laws.
Used to demo products & did Persil several times. Bought some to try myself & LOVE IT! Way prefer over Tide. Performance so much better & less guesswork over which type to buy. All fragrances great, and light fragrance is available. Pods perform super well, and granulated powder also performs like a champ! Works for HE or regular wash.
Good for pre-treating! Try it! The CVS deal is a STEAL!
Like others have said, the smell is wayyy too strong! I didn’t even finish the bottle because of it. And I hate wasting things. I just disregarded it, but may try the unscented one to give it another shot.
yeah– i gave away 4 bottles after i bought on sale. the scent doesn’t wear off even after a week or so, and smells very artificial. laying in the scent all night on my sheets or pajamas was nauseating.
I used to be exclusive to Tide but now that P&G has gotten so weird with their coupons I decided to jump ship. I love Persil and Oxyclean.
There is also a Persil $2 coupon on the target cartwheel app you can use with it. 😃
the $2 on CW app is a digital manuf coupon, so you can’t use it on top of the insert or printable on 1 bottle.
I think it’s crazy people are saying the scent is too strong. I’ve found with most detergents, by the time you wash clothes and dry them, most of the time any scent from the detergent & dyer sheets has burned off. At least with this brand you actually have a nice scent left after your clothes are washed and dried. I love this brand!
I know! Are they using like an entire cup of detergent??? I have an HE washer and find I only need to use detergent to the first line for a small or a medium load that is not very soiled and maybe to the second or third line for larger or heavily soiled loads. I don’t use dryer sheets, but do use the scent beads. By time my clothes are dried, they smell light and fresh. Not overpowering at all.
Far better than tide. Love it. And p and g sucks anyway.
I tried to use my 1 Persil and my 1 Purex coupon today at my Walgreens and the cashier said both were scanning up not valid. So frustrating! Anyone else having problems using coupons.com coupons?
I got this on sale yesterday at Wal-Mart 40 pods for $3 regular $12 and gain 72 count for $7 regular $17 I was super excited I got 2 of each for $20
Awesome finds! Thanks for letting us know what was available in your Walmart! We will have to check our stores for that as well!
I started using Persil (my mom lives with us and she only uses ALL) but I love it! Removes the stains and I never noticed the scent lingering but then again, I suffer from allergies. Happy shopping to all!
I absolutely love PERSIL! My son who is 11 years old, reminds me to wash his clothes in Persil… He loves the smell! I stock up when I can!
thank you! we love being able to get Persil on a deal!! 🙂
It is an awesome product. I was so excited when it finally got to the states. So many European products are now being sold here. I love that Kinder chocolate is now available here. I still have to get the real Kinder eggs when I go to visit my mother but that is okay. I fill up my suitcase with them, probably about 24 of them. LOL
I always use half the amount they suggest. It is strong and works well with half the amount they suggest. Germany only has the HE washers and my mother and grandmother always used half the amount when I was growing up.
I never noticed a smell, and nobody in my family complains… I have been using blue Persil for a while. We must be “hard of smelling”. I do use a black sharpie marker to mark off the line in the cap to fill soap to, since it is hard to see, and I use barely that amount and use downy scented fabric softener. I am happy with it overall.
I am not sensitive to smell but this smell is really overwhelming. I am not buying Percil again.
