I’ve had this machine for about three years. I love it!!
Woohoo! Good to know how well it has been holding up for you! I really need to grab one! I LOVE to make cinnamon bread, but it is a lot of work, takes up most of the day and two loaves are gone within 24 hours here. LOL!
I just bought one for me and my husband. I used to make a lot at my parents with their bread machine. So glad i could get this at a good peice.
As a side question i was going to purchase a small kitchen island and i see a few on kohls.com. i want it to be againat a wall so not looking for big, is there one that is not a lot of money that holds quite a few things with drawers and cabibets for around 100 dollars or so?
Hi Tracy! Great question. I have been shopping around for a Kitchen Island as well. I do see a few over HERE. Hope that helps!
Cost effective how would this be? For example how much do you guys usually spend on ingredients? Would love to get one but I’m on the fence if it might be cheaper to buy bread from the store or make my own
It really depends on the recipe. Some are only flour, salt, sugar, yeast and water. While others use a lot of butter. Also, this machine can make jams and it also has a dough cycle. It’s been fun experimenting with different recipes. My kids love it!
You could always try getting one from the thrift store and trying it first. There’s always a ton of bread machines at my thrift store for cheap
If you are a member of a club store bread flour is really cheap there. I figure our bread costs 70 cents a loaf and there are no weird ingredients not to mention the pizza crust dough that we make weekly among other dough for dinner rolls and such. I have a $289 Zojirushi and I figure it paid for itself in 9 months.
I’ve had this machine for a couple years and I love it. I don’t know if it’s super cost effective, maybe $1 per loaf and often times it doesn’t come out looking like one from the store, but it taste good. I make pizza, cinnamon rolls, and doughnuts. I’ve also also made jam. One thing I’d strong suggest is using kitchen scale. I’ve heard complains of the machine being too loud or wobbling around the counter but that’s because the dough is too heavy/dry. It should never sound like that. Weighing the ingredients makes it so much easier and the dough will always come out perfect. This is the best price for this machine.
Thanks so much for taking the time to share your experience, Workaholic!
Thank you! My bread machine has started burning the loaves. Perfect timing to get a new one.
You’re very welcome! Happy you can grab this one as a replacement!
My kid is allergic to eggs and wheat, has anyone ever tried making a gluten free, vegan loaf in this?
I have 4 bread makers that I use. I got the last 3 from the thrift store for $5 each. My regular bread recipe is 1 cup warm water, 1/4 cup of brown sugar, 1 tbsp milk, 2 tbsp oil, 1 tsp salt, 3 cups flour (I use white the most, sometimes do a cup or two of wheat) and 2 1/4 tsp of yeast. I love making dough for pizza and cinnamon rolls also. My machines range from 80-100 min for the dough cycle
