Thank you! I was able to purchase 3 for my grandkids!
I just read an article about car seats and you really should not add anything onto them unless they are made by the manufacturer. They can cause the seat to slide in the event of an accident. Again I am not sure on this particular item so before you add something I would call them to be safe. I know that you should never add those little covers over the straps because part of what keeps baby in the car is the texture of the strap. The bottom-line, any alterations or adding on or taking away on a car seat can greatly compromise your child’s safety.
Not only can they be unsafe they can void your carseat warranty. The problem is it makes you think the install is tight enough when it’s not. It’s ok to use a thin sheet for most seats. Always check your manual. Some carseat manufacturers make thier own mats that have been tested to use safely with their seats.
This is correct…all aftermarket parts and accessories (these mats, those car seat strap covers, bundle me’s, etc) used in conjunction can not only void the warranty, but compromise the safety of the seat…resulting in serious injury or death in the event of an accident. Not worth it at all! I wish people would stop buying these things.
I actually meant to say, Part of what keeps baby in the seat, not the car! In the article that I read baby was ejected from the car.
Looking at this mat I am wondering if it could cause the seat to slide though if it were in an accident.
Maybe I worry too much! I just want the little ones to be safe 🙂
