Just a warning – last year I bought 12 things of the regular sparklers from dollar tree and not ONE would light. We had better luck with the larger Morning Glory sparklers from dollar tree.

Can anyone clarify when its ok to do fireworks inside outside city limits rules lol hope not silly question lol:)

    • Stefanie

Every state, and often individual cities, have specific laws on this.

    • Jackie

It all varies. All cities have different rules when it comes to that.

    • Rebecca

It varies by area, might want to Google it for your county.

My fiance and I bought these last year, the sparklers and pop-its were okay, the fun colored snakes were a complete waste of money. I wouldn’t bother with anything but sparklers. Just go and spend a little more money and you won’t be disappointed.

Thanks for the honest feedback on these, Nicole!

The only things likely available at stores in my area are pop-its, sparklers, and party poppers. It is illegal to set off real fireworks in my county, with the exception of professional shows. People do it anyway. They just go to a neighboring county to buy real fireworks.

The noise keeps me up for hours. They don’t just keep me up on July 4th. They also do it Christmas, New Year’s Day, and the next day or two after that. They also don’t pick up after themselves. My mom finds remnants in her yard for a day or two after.

I LOVE fireworks…BUT the sparklers (may be called “morning glory”?) the ones wrapped on colorful paper with a gold stripe usually – NOT the old-fashioned gray metal ones – they are super dangerous…I nearly started on fire last time we used them! It seems that inside the paper wrapping, the part of the sparkler that “sparkles”, was cracked into pieces and when my kids were waving them around (as you are supposed to do 😉 ) lit pieces that were “sparkling” were flying off everywhere (onto my clothing, our patio furniture cushions, etc.) by the time we realized what was happening, it was too late to avoid burned holes in fabric and luckily only minor skin burns on me (none on them! Phew!) We did “test” the remaining packages at a later date when nobody/nothing was nearby – burning pieces always flew off the end!!! And I purchased the packages at different places at different times, so it seems to me that it wasn’t just one bad package. The other bigger fireworks that are sold for a dollar are great tho — they don’t burn as long (quick thrill 😉 ) as the ones that look the same at the fireworks stands – but are PERFECT for a neighborhood driveway (fountain style fireworks). It was small enough to be safe if kids were not too near, and they were not at all loud! The pop-its are always a hit, too – especially in the dark 🙂

I get these every year from Dollar Tree and I’ve never had a problem. The Morning glory sparklers are so much better than the regular and the other little fountains are good for kids who are scared of fireworks but still want to participate. I have already picked up the ones pictured first as some are new ones to the dollar store.

Last year I was able to buy TNT pop its from the firework stand for $1 a box. I think that is their normal price.

Just set some Dollar Tree fountains off… the 4 pack of mini “Amazing Fountains” Rev, Rowdy, and Short Stack. At 4/$1 the amazing fountaiuns were pretty decent, don’t last long but different ones had different colors… I think 2 might have been the same, they are all mainly white with a bit of color thrown in. Rev was the shortest of the regular fountains, nothing spectacular. Rowdy lasted a little longer, and had a decent burst of loud crackle. Short Stack by far was the best bang for the buck, (which I guessed was the case since it was the heaviest) with 3 phases including loud crackle.
