I love these deals. I did one time buy for an extra 50 cents (i find the subscribe & save prices vary too much by the time they ship!) and my total was 7.88 for 12.

For your initial subscription, the price at the time you subscribe is what you pay on the shipping date, even if the price has increased on the Amazon site by that time. After receiving your order, you can just cancel the subscription and wait for another great deal on that item to subscribe again.
Have they changed their policy? This is not how it used to work. I gave up on S&S because of the huge price fluctuations.
