Can we use a regular French press for cold brew too?

    • Aerie

Yes and it works just great!

Can you use store bought ground coffee for this? Or does it need to be more coarsely ground?

    • Molly

I’ve used both. I find that I get better flavor from coarse freshly ground coffee – but I use what I have on hand and tastes pretty good either way.

I have one of these in blue and I love it! If you already have a french press, you can use it, but if you get this, I like that there is a separate lid for when the coffee is brewing that doesn’t have the plunger and completely seals the container. So if you brew on the counter, you don’t have to worry about “stuff” getting in through the spout opening and if you brew in the fridge, you don’t have to make room for the tall plunger.

Also, the plunger lid for this keeps the container sealed as well – press a little toggle on the handle to open the spout for pouring.

The filter part is all one piece too, which I like because it’s easy to wash.

Cold brew in the summer is just the best and it keeps for a week or two in the fridge (not that it lasts that long in my house).
