Hooray! π Amazon Prime Day is July 16th, 2018!
Christmas in July is coming!
And by that, we mean Amazon Prime Day starts Monday, July 16th, 2018, at 1pm MST!
For those of you who don’t know what Amazon Prime Day is, it’s a day full of exclusive deals just for Amazon Prime members. If you don’t have a Prime membership, sign up for a FREE 30-Day trial.
Even sweeter, students can sign up for Amazon Prime Student for FREE for 6 months! After your 6-month trial has ended, you can keep the membership and pay $6.49/month or $59.99 annually, which is half the price of the regular Amazon Prime membership!
Along with super hot deals (and you know we’ll be posting about them like crazy!), Prime members also have exclusive access to new Prime Day launches on Amazon. In addition, membership benefits include saving even more on Prime Day:
- Get $10 when you download and sign in to the Amazon App for the first time.
- Install Amazon Assistant to get notifications of deals you watch and $5 off your Prime Day order of $25 or more.
- Unlock a $5 discount on select Prime Day deals when you look for items with Camera Search on the Amazon App.
- Get 10% back on your Whole Foods purchase between July 14th and July 17th, when you use your Amazon Prime Rewards Visa Card with an eligible Prime membership.
Be sure to mark your calendars for Amazon Prime Day on Monday, July 16th, and check back to the Amazon page on Hip2Save to stay up to date on the latest deals and offers!
yay!!!!
YeahππΌππππππ
I hate that it is so late in the month. I planned to get my son a fire kindle for his birthday on the 10th and this starts way later.
Just print a picture of it and place it in the card and tell him it’s on the way :).
How do get a free kindle?
Oh, the comment said fire Kindle which may have accidentally looked like free Kindle. Sadly the prime day deals aren’t good enough to be free! π
My wife just texted and told me not to go near Amazon on the 16th. Ha! π
LOL!
Woo Hoo!!!!! You know I’ll be online for this!!! π
Thanks for the tips on how to save money that day with the Amazon app.
But, I have a love/hate relationship with Amazon Prime Day. I love it for the great deals. I hate it because of how much money I spend.
You’re very welcome! Hoping you snag some HOT deals this year! π
I was going to download the amazon assistant but you give permissions to βread and change all your data on websites you visitβ along with some other things so I will pass not worth the $5 off to me
Yikes, Tina! Thank you for bringing this to our attention! Definitely not worth the $5 off.
So do you wait and download the app that day to get the credit for new app users or can you do it now? Thanks!
You can go ahead and download it now.
What is the Amazon assistant? Is it a separate app? If so do I order through the amazon app or amazon assistant?
Yes, Amazon Assistant is not the same as the app. It’s a browser extension. Hope that helps!
Prime Day AKA my Instant Pot’s birthday! π
Do you think they’ll have deals on clothes? I’m in need of some summer dresses and the only way I’ll participate in Prime Day is if they’ll have clothes on sale.
The commercials are showing clothing as prime day deals!
I bought a beautiful dress for $19 last year on Prime day and I saw tons before choosing.
I also want to know if I should wait to download the Amazon app. until that day.
You can go ahead and download it now, & still get the savings! π
Smart π
I honestly have never found a great deal on prime day, and Iβve searched! Lol whatβs everyoneβs favorite past deals??
I agree. Iβd love to see a post on past Prime Day favorites.
I scored a great deal on barnana bites last year. I think it worked out to be $1 a bag and they are normally $3-$4. I didn’t find a ton of other great deals, but sometimes you luck out if you’re timing is right.
Agree! What should I even expect to find? Iβve been super disappointed in the past, but maybe Iβm going about this sale all wrong. π
My husband bought me an amazon Alexa a couple years ago for a good price. The amazon products usually go on sale
β’ Anker 26800 mAh battery pack, Anker 2-Port 24W USB wall charger, and 2 pack of Anker 6ft nylon braided micro USB cables for $44.11($62.97 before gift card)
β’ a fat quarter quilts book and the first 2017 John Grisham book for free($38.11 before $16.67 courtesy credit, $6.44 off from lightning deal, $5 off $15+ book promo, and $10 “watch Prime video for the first time” credit)
β’ $50 Bloomin’ Brands(Outback Steakhouse) gift card for $30.16($39.50 before gift card)
β’ Apple Terms and Conditions comic book for $7.65 after tax(after $1.33 courtesy credit and $2.08 off from lightning deal)
I also got a 12 pack of 3.5oz bags of Brach’s sugar free cinnamon hard candy for $17.60 after tax. It usually hovered between $26 and $30 before tax. It was supposed to be a Prime Day lightning deal, but it was canceled. The next day the price dropped to $21.36. There was also a 20% coupon that took off an additional $4.27. Today it costs $26.59 or $2.22 per bag. $21.36 is $1.78 per bag. After the 20% coupon, I paid $17.09 or $1.42 per bag. They normally sell for either $1.78 or $1.98 at Walmart. I can’t remember which.
I had alot of courtesy credits from various issues and refunds to my Amazon gift card balance instead of my credit card. I talked my way into a courtesy credit for a price drop on a suitcase.
I also bought another quilt book on Prime day for $9.12 after lightning deal and tax. My mail lady decided to damage the 8″ x 10″ paperback book by stuffing it in my tiiny apartment mailbox. Amazon sent a replacement and let me keep the original. My mail lady stuffed the replacement in my mailbox. I got a refund instead of a second replacement and still got to keep the replacement. The rep refunded the $17.60 I paid for the sugar free cinnamon candy instead of what I paid for the book. I used that $17.60 on 8/7/17 to get a $21.99 red dress with big white polka dots for $4.39. I used the dress for the Minnie Mouse costume I wore to one of the Disney World Halloween parties.
I got a fisher price or tiny tykes cash register for 3 (bought 3) and also a kidkraft kitchen for 40! Normally over 200!! Tide pods for 2 (over 100 in there!) pampers/Huggies diapers for great deals too
Last year I stocked up on diapers because they are so much cheaper on that day and I also stocked up on socks and underwear for the whole family.
Yes… I was thinking I remember lots of comments on here last year about the deals not being that great π€·π»ββοΈ
We bought a expandable hose (love it), LED light bulbs, a digital caliper (tool), a dress for an annual dinner we go to for my work ($19 & it is beautiful), Great deal on men’s belts, Lawn Week Killer, Rockwell Sonicrafter F50 Oscillating Multi-Tool 33-Piece Kit with Case, a Sports kit with all kinds of mounts for our Go-Pro and a heat powered fan for our wood stove.
I opened this via my email and was taken to an amazon spin the wheel βcontestβ that seems spammy. Anyone else?
So sorry you got a spam ad! We definitely don’t wish for those to show up. Please be sure to email any details including screen shots to support@hip2save.com so we can block them!
This has happened to me several times! It happens incredibly frequently, recently, when I click on a link provided in the post to go to whatever store site that has the deal. Itβs really frustrating & has made me come on here less frequently. But when I do come on here to browse the posted deals I no longer click on the provided links. Now I google search the item that Iβm looking for on my own and go from there. I donβt know whatβs going on with the links in some of the posts but Iβm sick of the spam that they take me to.
Oh no! I’m so sorry you are getting these too! We are working to remove them asap! Please also send us an email with details and screen shots if possible to support@hip2save.com so we can try to block them!
Over the past three or four days, I have been dealing with a different problem. After a deal page has fully loaded, it will randomly go to a “you won an Amazon gift card” page. It will happen even when I’m not touching my phone. This particular scam is only happening on Hip2Save. I have at least 13 tabs open in Chrome on my S7 at any one time. Sometimes when I go to a tab for a different site, the gift card scam will take over and switch my broswer back to the messed up Hip2Save tab.
In the past, a fully loaded Hip2Save deal page would go to a “You have four virus” page. The fake virus scam has happened on the Cruise Critic message boards. Could a malicious ad be the problem with both sites? Do you use the same ad provider as Cruise Critic?
If I tap a deal on the main page and a new tab opens, only the main page tab will redirect.
Also, why do some deals open in a new tab while others open in the same tab?
I’m so sorry! We are finding that these seem to increase around holidays. Thank you for the heads up as these are not ads we are wanting on our site and are doing what we can to get rid of them. If you have any further issues on how the deals appear on your phone, be sure to send an email in to collin@hip2save.com with any details of what you are seeing so that we can check it out!
Thank you! We sure appreciate the heads up!!
The spam thing happens to me all the time, so I do the same thing – look for the product I’m looking for by opening up a new page,. I never go through H2S links anymore because of the spam. Also, not sure this happens to anyone else, but when ever I’m on the H2S site my computer starts to whine and I get lots of pop-ups! So frustrating, I never got this with the old H2S app, but with the new (well not so new anymore) I always get pop-ups and my computer struggles and whines like its getting infected with viruses. I love this site, but its getting worse to navigate around because of all the problems I get with spam. I can’t wait until Prime dday but I’m going to have to go to the Amazon site in a new window, I can’t use H2S links. π
Oh no! We do not want these spam pop ups on our site, and are working to block them. We do find that these tend to increase during a holiday. Please send an email over to collin@hip2save.com with any issues you encounter so that we can further investigate! Thanks so much for your feedback! We sure appreciate it!
Yes, ^ this is happening to me too, every time I click on a post. It’s been happening for over a week now. I’ve been less likely to come here/click on posts because of it unfortunately..
Spin the wheel contest to win an Amazon giftcard. URL says cloudfront.net or something like that.
DARN! SO very sorry to hear that! That is not something we want on our site! Be sure to send an email in to collin@hip2save.com with any details of what you are seeing, including the type of device you are using so that we can continue to block these! Thanks SO much!
I also have the same SPAM Amazon Wheel game when I open a Hip2save deal since last year! I emailed
Them and was instructed to screen shot then copy link and send to them . It’s still happening now! So frustrating!
Oh, those unicorn slippers. So cute! Thanks for the update on prime day & download of the app for $10. Awesome.
You are very welcome!
Rawr!
Does anyone know who the Winners are for the Hip2Save 10 Year celebration? I was told the winners would be announced by July 2nd.
Yes, it was posted yesterday.
https://hip2save.com/2018/07/02/hip2save-birthday-giveaway/
I work at amazon. so I’ll be fulfilling orders that day. making sure customers enjoy.
Do you think they they will have any good deals on shark vacuum
She said βfireβ kindle…not free. π
FIRE kindle not free
On last year’s Prime Day, I got the 23&Me DNA tests, coffee grinder, cream whipper and chargers, french press, and cat treats. Most items were 50% off.
Starting one week before Prime Day, you can see some of the deals that they are going to have. There is a Prime Day Guide that gives some tips on making the most of Prime Day.
What are the odds that there will be mattresses on sale on Prime Day?
I find it ironic that Best Buy, Target, Amazon and Walmart all upped my credit limits this week. Makes you wonder…
Where can I get that mug?!?!?! Love, Love, LOVE!!
