I use mine almost daily and it does sit on my kitchen island. It is kinda big and bulky sitting there but I really don’t have a choice! You can do sooooo much in a little amount of time. Yesterday, I had forgotten to take out a chicken breast to fix my hubby for lunch to take to work, and I was able to put in the cooker FROZEN and it cooked in less than 20 minutes. I did baked potatoes the other day and didn’t have to heat up my oven & house for an hour! It really is a time saver.
I bought the 8 quart a month ago. Having never used a pressure cooker I was a little nervous…but I LOVE it! So many features, so easy to use!
I recently bought the 6 quart and I love it. I cook for 4 and it’s the right size. I do regret not buying the 8 quart since I like to cook extra food to freeze for later.

Is 6 qt better or 8 qt?
Depends on how many servings you need. I cook for 6 people…I have the 8 quart.
How big is your family? We have a family of 4 and the 6 qt is plenty big for us- I can easily cook a whole chicken in it. Also, accessories are easier to find for the 6 qt vs. the 8 qt. Just keep in mind that whatever size you buy, you cannot fill it to max capacity anyway as that’s a safety hazard.

I think it may be the tax added in. I had the same issue. Finally I subtracted the tax and it came out to the amount written above.
