What are the perks of working for SayABC?

1. Earn up to $21 and work from home!

Qualified teachers will teach English to young students online and will make between $15-$21 per hour. Your minimum pay will be determined by your attendance and productivity.

2. You can work a flexible schedule!

Classes run for 40 minutes and are scheduled seven days a week. There are set times so you can pick when you wish to teach. Plus, there are times available in the mornings and evenings!

3. No Teaching Degree is Needed!

You don’t need a degree in Education to be a SayABC teacher! All you need is a Bachelor’s degree in ANY field AND one school-year of traditional teaching experience. Although it is not required, if you do have relevant teaching certificates such as TEFL or TESOL, those are preferred.

Plus, if you don’t have a Bachelor’s degree but ARE going to school for an Education Degree, you may still qualify! Also, they may accept candidates with Associate degrees or final year university students, dependent on other teaching qualifications and experience.

4. No lesson plans!

SayABC’s interactive teaching platform includes everything you need. They have an exclusive partnership with National Geographic’s ‘Our World’ and provide everything to make lessons both engaging and fun. This includes teachers notes, teacher tools, and reward and feedback cards. Lessons can be previewed before the class to help you prepare.

I applied after you posted this a few weeks ago, and I’m in my first full week of teaching! I love it so far! The training is very helpful, and the kids are adorable! From the time I first applied on the websites to getting my contract took just over a week, and I already have 10 classes booked! I have never worked for an ESL company before, but my experience so far with SayABC has been amazing!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Yay! SO awesome to hear that! Very happy you have been loving it so far! Thanks a bunch for sharing with us!

    • Katiestenmark

Can you give me an idea of the hours you teach? Is it 6 am?

      • Aimee

        6:40 – 7:20

There are also some evening slots available on Fridays and Saturdays.

I currently work for SayABC’s parent company VIPKID and I cannot say enough about how wonderful it is! The flexibility to work at home while my kiddos are sleeping cannot be beaten! This job has given our family the financial freedom we needed for my husband to pursue full-time ministry as well! I’d love to answer any questions any one has about it 🙂 Feel free to email me at laurenmac10@gmail.com or get started here: https://t.vipkid.com.cn/activity/popup?refereeId=6783306&refersourceid=a01

has anyone found something similar for those who don’t have degrees? My esthetic license was a poor choice for work at home scenarios 😂

    • Mel

I heard that magic ears didn’t require a degree, but I am not sure.

    • Kris

Magic ears does not require a degree but they require online teaching experience.

  5. Jenny

Is this company located in the U.S.? Do we have to pay income tax?

    • Lauren Mobley

No, they are located in China and you are considered an independent contractor. You fill out a 1099 when you are hired 🙂

    • K

You will have to pay taxes when you file taxes at tax time. Average 20%, so it’s recommended that you set aside this amount to pay at the end of the year.

  6. Beth

I just started with GoGoKid. It is one on one teaching with all curriculum provided for you. They pay 60% of your base pay for peak time slots that you open on your schedule but are not booked by students. They are offering a signing bonus of $150 for completing three classes during your first 30 days and another $150 for receiving no negative parent feedback in your first 30 days.

How do you teach if you don’t speak their language? I have a nursing degree, no formal teaching experience, but I am a school nurse… would I qualify?

    • Court

Some kids know basic English and you use lots of props to demonstrate what they need to be learning. Many of the lessons start off incredibly simple and the kids are just parroting back what you say

    • K

You need to have a bachelors degree for this company.

    • Mommyofwwa

I work for SayABC, and you use a lot of pantomiming. Lol They do know some basic words, and the teaching platform does a lot of the work for you. I think any experience working with children is fine.

  8. Rn

Not to get all in anyone business, but how often are you paid and on average the amount of the paycheck..I’m assuming it is direct deposit.
Lastly do u need a computer with a webcam for this

    • amb041

qkids pays around the 10th. and for most you need a camara

    • tammy

Does qkids need a bachelor’s degree as well?

  10. Tara

For those on the East Coast what are your time slots? Also does one need a landline for this job?

    • amb041

no, you do not need a landline.

please email abankerd@gmail.com for more info

    • Mommyofwwa

For SayABC, the morning time slots would start at 6:00am. You do NOT need a landline. The company highly recommends an Ethernet cable instead of WiFi.

  11. Melanie

For those that work with these companies, can you work for more than one?

    • Beth

Yes, you can work for more than one. You can choose the times that you are available for each company. You just have to be careful to make sure that you don’t end up double booked and need to cancel with one of the companies.

  12. amb041

not if you have experience. please email me if you would like more info. abankerd@gmail.com

  13. Lauren

Hi! I just applied for it. I also work for Q Kids which is similar and offers up to $20 an hour. I have been completely booked since starting and it is great. They also do not require a degree. If you want to check it out look here: https://teacher.qkids.net/ref?code=WMNEGW
If anyone has any questions let me know 🙂

  14. Mike

Does anyone know of any I can work at without any prior teaching experience? I have a Bachelor’s degree but no teaching experience.

    • Mommyofwwa

For SayABC, you don’t need traditional classroom experience. Anything like coaching, volunteer work, teaching children at church, etc. should work. I just got hired, and there was no background check, I didn’t have to upload my diploma, and I didn’t have to submit a resume. I know these were necessary in the past, so I’m not sure if they’ve changed the policy or if it’s dependent on your credentials. Also, the “up to 21 dollars” is actually for teaching 40 minutes not an hour! You have a base pay of $15, and then bonuses.

      • Mike

        Awesome! Thanks for the reply!
