My Paypal has been charged 4 times but still no confirmation or record of the order on their account. It keeps saying ERROR: Order Not Found. I am and have been on hold forever. Not worth it for socks.

I just received an order update. They charged my card the $1.06 for the donated socks and updated my order to processing the donation but marked cancelled on the free socks. Basically that order was just a donation…
Don’t do the donate $1.00 to get free socks unless you just want to donate. My order was cancelled.

I’m trying to buy socks now to get the free socks and keep getting an error “Order not found”. I originally did the donation one and it got cancelled. I tried calling to cancel my original transaction thinking that doing it before is blocking me, but I was waiting over 10 minutes and just gave up. Hanes is on my naughty list now. Not buying anything from them after wasting so much of my time today.
I got charged on paypal, but it doesn’t show what the order was for 🙁 Hopefully they can figure it out 🙂

well I guess I donated 3.24 that sucks sense it took it out 3 times and no socks.
I tried to get the 2 Ugly christmas sweaters and socks, and got the error code as well. I was using Safari on my phone. I received an email from Paypal that I placed an order, but never received one from Hanes. I called Hanes and they said that they are experiencing technical difficulties and that my order couldn’t go through (I was able to give them a reference number from the last page of my checkout screen). They made sure that the order was cancelled and said that Paypal can’t charge because the order is not going to be shipped and therefore can’t be fulfilled. I tried to call Paypal but there is a 1+ hr wait time, so I chatted with an agent that said I should expect to see the “pending charge” on my account go away in a few days. But at least I do have an email from them now that says I won’t get charged. Honestly, I think the post needs to be updated again because I wasn’t even donating socks and still had the same problem. Totally not worth over an hour of being on the phone and aggravation — all for nothing.

They’re not charging tax on the donation. The tax is on the free item. Most places do that. You even pay tax on coupons.

I was able to put in two orders just now. My 8 yr old loves his sweats so I took advantage of the B1G1 free. I was also able to get free socks for my stepson & daughter in the process. Yay! Between the two orders my total was about $20. Not too shabby for four pairs of sweats and two packs of socks. I was having trouble earlier when I was paying via PayPal though. Hanes should really cancel your entire order if you are not going to receive the promotional item. The added gift is what makes it a great deal.
Now, I was too cheap to buy anything. In hindsight, maybe, I should have bought a tee or something. But, I didnt. I made the $1 donation. However, I was charged twice (and that is not fair because they are charging me for something that was never intended or agreed upon).
Also, things are a bit tight right now. So, I kind of want my $2 back. I like to donate. But, now is not the time and I feel a little conned (but, its probably my fault for thinking this was legit). At least I wasn’t charged like 13 times as some people have claimed. :, (
One earlier commenter also pointed out that if they can’t get their site to work well, should we really trust them to donate what they say they will? Personally, I prefer to donate myself and not trust some company to do it for me. They use it as a publicity thing and it is not their money. If they want to give money, the company can do it themselves and so can you and I. Sorry Happy!

Bummer! I emailed them about my order. I don’t mind donating but the site should have been set ahead of time not to allow donations with the free socks. The $1 sock donation was considered an order obviously….so should qualify for the free sock promotion. However Walgreens also cancels my order when it’s a super great deal that cost a mere dollar or 2.
Wow, I’m sorry, but looks like karma bit a lot of people in the butt today. It was a free pair of socks with any PURCHASE.. a donation is NOT and never will be a purchase smh. Obviously, a lot of people took advantage of the system’s loop hole, and it makes perfect sense that Hanes would cancel those orders. The fact that many people have ‘donated’ money all tied up with paypal serves you right for taking advantage of the situation and creating a mess for Hanes and a headache for Paypal and yourselves smh.

From the website, the item “Donate socks” it says things like, “the socks you buy will be sent to the Salvation Army.” “We have to charge tax for this order (you’re buying socks to be donated to where they are needed)”
So this “donation” is a purchase of socks. So it shoukd qualify for the promotion. I hate that a positive thing that a donation should be is now clouded by this free promotion. If Marie’s post is correct, then hanes could have easily solved it by saying that the donation did not qualify for the promo, and will be cancelled, so would you like the whole order cancelled, or keep the donation for a good cause.
But please do no bring karma into this. Hip2savers did nothing wrong but use a promotion that was out there.
Try to justify it all you want, but by the looks of all these posts, MANY people were NOT trying to donate, but instead looking to take advantage of a promo that was not intended to be included in the way they used it. I never said Hanes handled it perfectly, but they were probably slammed with many more of these orders than just Hip2savers. Where’s the sympathy for those who are dealing with a headache they didn’t create?
A headache? A situation that they’re taking advantage of now, because they’ll be able to write off all those donations. And on top of that, charging taxes on it so they’re making money off of it too.

Many thought they could get a $10.00 pack of free socks for a $1.00 donation. And then place multiple orders too.
Also, many on the post tried to do this deal because that’s what the H2S post said to do!
I knew this would happen…people suck…well most of them do…totally taking advantage…and not even once but multiple orders? It’s Hanes fault. Don’t allow these things to happen if they aren’t allowed. Some people were charged numerous times. What’s that about? The promotion seemed like a win-win…donate socks to a needy individual and get free socks for yourself…yea that’s terrible..as someone said cancel the whole order if not allowed.
Ordered Toddler crewneck T-Shirt BOGO for $6 and free socks plus free shipping so all for only $6. I couldn’t find anything cheaper good for me so these shirts would be fine as a gift for my baby nephew. Went through without problem using credit card.
I just placed an order-(something on clearance) and choose the free socks. So far so good.

I made the purchase using donation socks. I received an order confirmation. Few hours later they cancelled the free socks but continue to process for the donation socks. Not that I mind the $1 donation, but I feel kinda cheated. Their webpage should have rejected the order in the first place!
I placed and order for men’s socks at 11:35am and received a confirmation email. Then received and email at 1:15 pm stating the $1 donation socks were processing but the free pair had been cancelled.
