I can set my kids’ alarms from my dot or phone app and also set reminders for school (remember to bring your library book) or sports (you have practice tonight at 6). I use the app to set a Bible verse for them to remember each month. I set it to play every weekday morning while they are getting ready for school.
I have these in my boys room. It is great for playing music at night for them. If I forget to tell it to stop after X hours, then I listen to it when I wake up.
I love being able to drop in on my kids and check on them. We have one in all of the bedrooms, and one in the living room. Though my 2 year old thinks Alexa exists solely to play “baby shark” for him!

Looks like $24 is the BF price everywhere, so if you need three this is better than fighting crowds or staying up until midnight when the sales start. Also take a look at some other promotions. Best Buy has a deal on an ecobee thermostat that includes a free echo dot. There are many others like that too if you could use another product and get the benefit of a free echo.

Hmm I might have to take advantage of this. I already have one and I love it. Was thinking of getting one for living room and then maybe the others could be gifts. We are finding it inconvenient to have both echos and google assistant speakers in the house. I can’t take another instance saying “Alexa” in a google room and “Hey Google” in an echo room. Also the commands are different depending on the device (for instance I have to give different commands to adjust the thermostat), you have to learn different commands. My kids are so much more used to Alexa, I noticed they will come to the living room and talk to her before they will use the Google assistant speaker that’s in their bedroom. I just got three to replace three of the Google assistant speakers in the bedrooms, so now all rooms will have Echo devices! I’ll sell the three insignia google speakers on eBay and possible break close to even. Thanks!!!
This is quite interesting. We use Google all the time but reserve Alexa for Audible. She can be extremely annoying because commands have to be exact if not she either ignores you or does something else. I can also switch between speaking Spanish and English with my Google mini. It’s wonderful and unique in that aspect. I gift Alexa because it’s more popular but in terms of use, I recommend Google. Hope you get a good sale at eBay 😁
